He is a bit.......brainless or something.

He looks most vulnerable when he is on a yellow card too. I dont know what it is about him sometimes.

He can be very very good, but he can also be so out of touch with the game.

Constantly caught on the wrong side, then steams around trying to recover and ends up on the wrong side again. Beaten in the air constantly, out of position constantly, rash in the tackle. I just don't get it.

    Gets forward well alright.

Your summation of him could easily have just been copy and pasted from four years ago, and it's still 100% accurate. The excuse then was his youth, he just hasn't grown as a player.

It would be nice to see Nani replace Young at some point, would enjoy looking at a fully fluid United attack, it's been about four years.

Would be great to see him back to make amends for the Real game last year.

That said young is decent once played out right. I hate him on the left.

Hasn't been his best game, but he's definitely added something different.

    Totally agree here.

Seems to have a bit of a David May look about him where all the good things are overseen by maybe one bad thing.

Been saying this forever. Positionally v weak. Real trier tho which is why most fans like him. We need serious back up for him IMO. Someone who can challenge for the starting slot not a stand in.

That's interesting. I made a mental note to track him closely but have been in and out making sure the ankle biters are not killing each other so haven't been able to keep a close eye on him.

Needs a run now if we are to rely on him v bayern.

West Ham seemed to target Buttner in the first half until Rafa got booked then they went looking to get him too get a second booking.

What a keeper, best distributor of the ball in the world

Buttner didn't put a foot wrong today. Defensively he put in a better performance than any Evra has given this season. I would love to see him start every game, I know it won't happen, but it would give him a chance to grow as a player as opposed to Evra giving 30mins then giving up.

He wasn't really great today, but we really needed Fellaini against that West Ham team. He was giving as good as he got, this West Ham team try to bully people, and the big fella had none of it. Tidy enough in the middle as well.

Jones and Carrick we really impressive. Jones lead from the back, but teams like West Ham suit him, as opposed to the likes of Sturridge and Suarez.

A bit disappointed by a lack of cutting edge around the box, but the ball retention was as good as its been at any stage since Moyes took over so for that I'm happy enough.

Won't get overly excited; we've managed two wins against useless teams who we probably should have beaten by more.

Regardless, it's a bit of positive momentum heading into a massive derby. We can't afford to sit back against City and Bayern like we tend to though.

It's amazing how much more confident we look when Kagawa is on the field. :pac:
Few good preformances, a poor one I felt from Young (who doesn't bother trying to pick out crosses; just fire them into the box).

Be interesting to see how City game goes.

I reckon in the English league only Cech is better than him

Young has been dire on the right today, no end product whatsoever.

Surprised he wasn't taken off purely cos he was having another very poor game.

Nani and Adnan sitting on the bench, they couldn't have done any worse

Delighted. Yes West Ham were brutal but I'm delighted that Utd actually passed the ball and had good ball retention. Still seemed to default to knocking it wide for an aimless cross after some nice build up play though.

Mata at no 10 had his best game for Utd so far, faded a little in the second half but Utd were a lot deeper.

Delighted to see Kagawa get the full 90, even playing from the left. A bit sloppy sometimes but he always sees the pass, always. He's just a class act and it's criminal he hasn't been utilised more.

To think Nani hopefully has to come back into the team, there really are some fantastic ball players in the team. A team with Rooney Mata Kagawa and Nani would be drool worthy.

A new manager and maybe three top additions in the summer and we'd be a formidable out fit next season.

That was almost a typical Fergie's United performance. Nice to be able to enjoy a game for a change.
