But aren't you just an honest Liverpool fan with a username like that who just comes into the United thread for open and honest discussion and definitely has as much right as everyone else to post in here?

With this in mind, why would you post such a trollish link?

IF true and the video is from this morning..

would you not see it for what it potentially could be (a very good motivator to really go at them) instead of pulling the 'trollish' post card?

and the username upsetting people is getting tired now ..I really couldn't give a flying its more their problem than mine.

    It's not though.

United have better strikers, a better goalkeeper and a better Mata than Arsenal and Liverpool. That's about it.

Stikers ,Really I mean ... really !!! maybe and its a slight maybe if you had a time machine you could find a time when they were playing better than SAS is playing now but you would need to make two stops in your time machine.

You have a great goalie ,i will give you that

Based on past glories I would take Ozil over Mata (although i like both) but Coutinho is........ ok that is a bit of a stretch .

Suarez is better than all of them. If you judge both partnerships since the day Sturridge joined Liverpool and there's one clear winner imo

Better partnership or better strikers? Two different questions.

I think Suarez is class no doubt, but until Suarez proves it in next seasons Champions league I still rate RVP higher. My Opinion.

As with Sturridge who has only proven himself in one season in domestic football.

I think Bayern having the second leg away is crucial. I'm more optimistic than most but I still give us less than 40% chance giving the way we have been this season.

We need every player on top of their game. I'm ****ting bricks about Evra though. I really think they could tear us apart with the wingers they have switching sides with him not being able to track back like he used too.

Aguero definitely out of Manchester Derby (according to BBC)

We'll still be up against it but he'll be a miss for them, he always plays really well against us.

Oh look what I've started. And my post was supposed to temper an outlandish statement about the quality of United's squad. :(

Let's not forget that Brendan Rodgers masterminded a drubbing at OT and he's no Pep, and Bayern are in better form than them and have far superior players.

It's going to take a miracle and Moyes getting the tactics perfect over 90 minutes something he hasn't done this season, if you want to say he did against Arsenal before Christmas I wouldn't agree as he tried the same against other teams and it didn't work.

The first half against the Greeks was promising, but as it stands it could be put down to an anomaly.

I just hope we don't roll over, give them a game at least, make them work for it,
I think the best anybody can hope for is to keep the scoreline respectable. Nearly impossible to see a way for Utd to somehow defy the odds. Shame the first leg is at home as well as it leaves Moyes in a bit of a quandry. Go for a win and play a relatively attacking game or have a damage limitation outlook, play ultra defensively and hopefully nick a goal to take over there. He is almost definitely gonna go with the second option which will in all likelihood mean that Utd leave this competition with a whimper.

We have 4 strikers Pool have 2, if SAS got injured you guys would be ****ed, we could still deploy Hernandez/Welbeck with Mata or Kagawa behind.

I think Bayern are pretty warm favourites, but I don't think it is as impossible for utd to progress as many seem to. I give ye about a 25-30% chance of going through, although I admit that's not a scientifically derived at % based on actual evidence from this season. If I were to go that route, it's more like 5%, but as Jimmy Greaves used to say, "it's a funny old game".

Porto, inter,Liverpool all were under dogs and went in to win it.
It's not impossible, but a lot of luck and hard graft needed by every player.
We need the others to have the same effort and work rate as Rooney.

They were underdogs with good managers.

PP has us at 5/1 to win the home leg

    5/1!!!

To put it into context that is same price Ireland were to beat Germany in the 6-1 defeat.

I'd like to think Moyes will set the team up to go for it at Old Trafford; an attacking line up who care about winning and want to put on a good effort.

Sadly, I think we'll see a "safe", "Don't lose too badly", "Make it difficult for them to score" 442, with the strikers left isolated and chasing wild balls.

Some managers will say we're the underdogs to play down expectations so that the other team gets complacent, while still believing we can maybe get something out of the match. Moyes will say it cause he thinks it's true and expects to be beaten. :(

Seen that ,,we're 33/1 in the outright betting,,

Think 20/1 about Atletico Madrid (outright betting ) is a fantastic price , might be having some of that,:D

I wouldn't say you have better strikers than Liverpool, more depth obviously. But I'd take Suarez and Sturridge over RVP and Rooney all day.

Individually, you could argue that Rooney and RvP are better than Suarez and Sturridge. While I wouldn't necessarily agree, its a valid argument.

As a partnership though, there's no comparison. Suarez and Sturridge are far more effective together then Rooney and RvP have been (though obviously that could change), while in terms of worth, Suarez and Sturridge would be far more valuable on the basis of age

They probably are right, but regardless, when do you ever get to bet on United with odds like that?

Trying to compare teams in terms of "we have a better goalie, you have a better striker" etc is pretty stupid. RVP is obviously better than Sturridge but it doesn't matter a whole lot if RVP gets the ball once every three games while Sturridge is getting chance after chance.

It would make a fair bit more sense - although it's still a bit stupid since the league table has already done the job for you - to talk about one team having a better attack while the other has a better defence rather than talking about one for one comparisons.

In which case United are clearly worse than Arsenal at least in both regards.

I have little doubt that he will go with a defensive line up, this is a guy that gets nervous playing the likes of Stoke and West Brom after all.

In this case however it would be the right decision, we are too deficient in midfield to even pretend at breaking even there. I can see Carrick and Felliani in front of the defence, Valencia and Young both starting wide, and then both Wellbeck and Rooney dropping back to fill space and make tackles. Van Persie will cut a forlorn figure on his own up front.

In fairness UTD at home 5-1 is pretty rare ,might have to have a piece of that

I don't see this going anywhere close to 7-0 as per the Barca game. The difference here is that barca like to retain the ball and play football, United under Moyes will not. I still think Bayern will win, but it won't be the beating of a lifetime.

2-1 to Munich at Old Trafford, and then the same in Munich as they coast for 60mins or so. 4-2 agg.
