I'm delighted with that draw. We're not gonna win the Champions League, lets get real, but we're also not gonna be in the tournament next season. So this is what I want to see. Man U up against the very best, because we not might see it again for a couple of seasons. Plus, if a miracle does happen then one of the two favourites is out of the tournament.

The tie really makes West Ham, City and Villa very important now, good performances in those and at least we will go into the tie on a high note, nothing to lose and with a bit of momentum!

I fear we are going to struggle on saturday and tuesday so the above can prob be scratchedand it will all be about Moyes situation again! hope Im wrong!

It might be an idea to start Welbeck on the left wing, with specific instructions to support Buttner.
Welbeck can run all day and is very hard working

    welbeck should play regardless

tbh i wouldnt expect a fergies united to get a result against bayern in their current form if we make it to the semis there is still hope for moyes

There is one man who can save us, one bastion of glory that remains, one Shinji Kagawa. He'll open that Bayern defence by nutmegging Dante and Lahm again and again for 90mins before firing him a bicylce kick that would rival Hiroshima for power effectively ending the game 2-1 thanks to a first half goal from Buttner.

Yeah, and Barca always get an annual beating off someone from the bottom of La Liga. I get what you're saying, but strange results pop up in football. These things have to be taken in context though, and if Bayern were competing the the PL this year they'd be out of sight by now.

If Moyes made the CL final but lost, would ye keep him?

I predict 1-0 OT and 0-0 in Munich. DDG to make an unprecedented 185 saves between the two games.

Lads, its ****ing Bayern with second leg in the allianz. They've not been beaten in Germany since 2012 and the only games they've lost in that spell were two dead rubbers against City and Arsenal playing like their lives depended on it while they didn't give a ****.

They drubbed City and Arsenal away this year. This is going to be cruel to watch.

And Chelsea beat them in both Super Cup and Champs League final,
plus Arsenal beat them last year in one leg.

Clutching at straws a little, I know

No, Di Matteo managed a Chelsea team that won the CL and he was a useless manager.

The league was the most important thing for Moyes, and he has fooked that up majorly.

We'll be embarrassed and it'll come off the back of more bad results like getting done by City. I'd say in OT it'll be 0-4 at the best and another beating by 3 clear goals out there against Munich's second string. Genuinely think it could be a double digit humiliation if Munich are on song and we're going to see the club's record home defeat in Europe.
You genuinely think that because you are a genuinely pessimistic person. You genuinely thought they wouldn't beat Olympiakos and also genuinely think that their form in 2014 is relegation standard. Utd will almost certainly be knocked out by Bayern but it will almost certainly not be by double figures. Moyes won't get sacked on the back of this game.

We beat them our last time there did we not?

Anyone thinking Moyes will be sacked for losing to Munich needs their head screwed back on. We haven't got to this stage since 2010/2011

If the team shows some sign of co-ordination and plays good football yes ive no problem keeping him

If we play the same **** we have for the last few months and fluke our way to the final then no imo

I actually wouldnt be surprised if we lose 5-1 at old trafford. If bayern are up for it we could be in for another one of those nights against a top class team.

The tactics Moyes has been using all season are just schoolboy stuff compared to what Pep does, I'd say he's ecstatic at that draw, celebrating right now.

It's just likely to go one way, we'll set up defensively and it won't work because they're Bayern and they'll get a few goals.

Wont be sacked just for losing to Bayerm however if its back to terrible performances/defeats in the next 3 league games and then totally embarrassed by Bayern over two legs then I can see a case for him being sacked in summer..

I'm not suggesting that we for one second have a chance of beating Bayern because we don't. However they aren't the greatest european powerhouse in history. A relatively average Chelsea side has put it up to them big time on two occasions while Arsenal were one goal away last season. On their day eg Barca last year they are the best XI in the world but they are beatable with the right tactics and right attitude. Dortmund nearly did it last year but that was an awesome Dortmund team as well.

Is Moyes a man who could pull it off? No.

Obviously expectations are poor for the outcome of this, but putting in two strong performances against one of the best sides in Europe would go along way to dispel fears about Moyes and the teams future.

Loosing is ok, it's not the end of the world, but there needs to be a decent showing.

The games coming up in the league are crucial to build some momentum to take into that tie.

And who knows, you can't switch it on when you want, and all the evidence points against it but sometimes Champions league ties can be taken in isolation from league form.

And who knows, OT European nights are special atmospheres, might impress Toni :P About as close as I think I'll ever see him at OT, so looking forward to it.

So if Moyes had won the Champions League and FA Cup this year, you'd still see him sacked because he had a miserable league campaign? Even though Ferguson managed two European Cups in 20 attempts, and hadn't won an FA Cup in almost a decade. I realise how important the league is, but sacking a manager that won two thirds of a Treble is extremely harsh. I think you're talking out of your hat to be honest.
