I've a niggling feeling we'll get Barca,2 managers who are finding it hard at their clubs pitted against each other.

I wouldn't be as keen at sussing out injuries as you appear to be Eric, i just thought myself at the time that it looked nasty and to be at a delicate part of the leg, my first reaction was shattered knee!

Who knows, maybe he knew Moyes wasn't going to take him off before full-time so he took his only chance for a standing ovation with the stretcher :pac:

Not so sure, camera got quite close to him on the stretcher when he was coming off, and he looked in pain. He didn't clap or salute the crowd either. Was clear that he was badly injured.

Quote from Moyes is that "He has got a knock in the back of his knee but hopefully it is not too bad."

Wouldn't be suprised to see Evans at LB, but will depend on who's fit.

Evans is a pretty good left back, remember him playing there a few years back, probably a safer option than Buttner.

Honestly, I do want one of the "big" teams. I rarely get the excuse to watch the big, big players play, so a chance to see Messi, Ronaldo, Ibra....yes please.

Yeah it's not like the most expensive player in history will improve them or anything.

Rafael should be able to handle him if he's at his best and pumped for the game and stick Jones on Ronnie again, hopefully he replicates last year's performance......but Buttner......shudder.

Buttner will be our secret weapon, one of Bale, Reus, Robben, Moura, Turan, Sanchez, and Willian won't stand a chance.

you could put anyone on Ronaldo at this stage and it wouldn't matter. the guy is a beast.... bale plays down evras side as well so he will destroy whoever he is on.... of all the teams left Madrid is the one I do not want.... athletico Madrid or Dortmund please

Strangely enough, I'd almost rather Barca then a few of the others. We would frustrate them with our defensive set up.

I wouldn't trust Rafael to handle a hot drink for me. Can only imagine he'll be worse again if he's playing left back.

I honestly think Buttner will start, Moyes will get the balls torn off him if he plays a RB at LB and we lose, at least if we lose with Buttner at LB there's a slight excuse.

that is a terrible view!! buttner is actually awful... look at Chelsea...a right back played LB, same as Liverpool Flanagan playing left back...Puyol played LB loads of times for Barcelona....

All credit to RVP for hitting the onion bag 3 times last night but methinks it doesn't take all that much for him to be in pain.

He comes across as just a little precious.

Hopefully he will be ok though, and it's nothing serious, we need everyone fit.

Well then it will be Buttner facing Bale!

what was not to be confident about?? that's why I don't think people rate welbeck enough, always causes problems when hes on the field, lightning fast. Giggs was always going to perform last night after all the garbage talk in newspapers.... was a great looking line up I even said it before the game... pace and width with rooney dropping back

You predict a United win before every game you comment on. You've been on here for less than a month, have made three predictions about United games - both legs against the Greeks and the Liverpool one at the weekend. You called a United win in all three games. United got tonked in the first two games and now you are spouting off because they won one game against a fúcking Greek side at home.

There have been plenty of new posters on here this season with the same nonsense spooofing positivity that you have had since you arrived a short while ago. Your bullshít positivity will quieten down eventually just like it did with the rest of them.

A beast is an understatement, I've seen a lot of Madrid's games this year and Ronaldo's brilliance is almost beyond description.

Id be very surprised if Buttner doesnt start in the first leg of the quarter final.
Id also be very surprised if Evra doesnt start most if not all games before then.

Feel the same with the above but it makes little logical sense.

I'd be putting Buttner in for West Ham for a start. People were pretty quick to judge the lad from minimal gametime. He has a great engine, has GREAT pace and ir hearty in a tackle. Doesn't do half bad getting forward aswell.

Can't help but feel there has been quick judgement on him , somewhat stemming from the rubbish reports that he was seemingly a complete accidental/mixup purchase.

Throw him in against West Ham, see how he does.

Can't hlep but feel there is alot of jumping around about needing a new left back, and we might have a diamond in the rough. Defensive improvement will come with experience, I'd like to see him get a chance. Anytime I've seen him, while I havn't been blown away, I havn't been labelling him ****e either.

Good suggestion by whoever posted it, that whoever will play LB in the quarter final should get a run at it in the league as preparation as well.

The team selection on Saturday will interesting.

Assuming Giggs will start as well, might be worth giving him some game time as well.

didn't mean to slag but just because buttner is our only left back doesn't mean you start him automatically..

We are in no-mans land in the league so why not experiment in the remaining games & go all out for the UCL.Nobody is giving us a prayer in it so we've nothing to lose.

Thanks Macca, I was just having the craic with that line about the standing ovation, sure didn't I put in a smiley! He definitely looked in pain, I thought it was a season-ender at the time by the look of it and his reaction on the ground. Hopefully it is just a knock and he'll be fine in a matter of days rather than weeks.

First leg v Olympiakos prediction: United to win 2-1

Liverpool prediction: United to win 2-1

I missed the WBA prediction. So that's four games you have predicted, all four of them you predicted United wins.

Honestly, who the **** died and made you king of the United Thread, if anything your above post and elitism is beyond cringe worthy. You should take a leaf out of your own book and pipe down, you're just an embarrassment at this stage.
