He came on and barca scored their third, probably should have tried to close down xavi for the 4th too. Barca have had the ball since hes been on.

Came on as a sub after 79 minutes, did nothing.

Came on in the 79th minute, so we saw very little of him.

Barca always look more comfortable when they are two goals up. They still have a lot of questions to answer and I think City could give them a real tough time in the second leg of the Champion's League.

Its just hard to tell exactly where they are right now. Busquets was awesome as per usual and my MoM tonight.

Barcelona were a disorganised mess at times. City can still beat them imo. Messi isn't providing any movement and that'll be a big problem against solid defences.

City ain't beating Barca. If there was one team whose performance today shone them in a bad light for the conclusion of that tie it wasn't Barca.........unfortunately.

City score first it could be interesting but one would imagine Barca will score at least 1 goal and that should be enough to put it to bed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Barca sore first get complacent. City need three goals to win regardless. Barca's 1-0 makes no difference really to city qualifying. City go for broke and Barca like they have done in la ligament a few times crumble under the pressure.

Just a scenario. Still expect Barca to win.

Shouldnt Barca be hammering a team like Almeria?

From the above i presume they werent that impressive?

La Liga is really set up for a great finale, cannot wait. Hoping for an A.Madrid win, but think they had to win last night to get it

Im pretty sure its a ploy Barca have for Messi to stand static enough between the 2 centre halves . It means it creates more space for people in behind . Then when the time comes for Messi to be involved he can can change a game in an instant . Something like 13 goals in 13 games this year is impressive , along with numerous assists .

However as a City fan i dont think the tie is over just yet . With Aguero back and if Navas starts i still think we can trouble them . Heart says a 3-1 win for City but my head says a borefest of a game

They toyed with them, it was a training match really. As was mentioned, in the first 10 mins the Barca line was in almerias half.

Messi free kick was brilliant. He didnt really try though but could turn in a flash. Xavi was class throughout, made them tick all night. Neymar is hilariously one footed, he could have skinned his man 10 Times but always cut onto his right. Valdes was shockingly bad for the goal. 72% possession though, so they did what they had to. Almeria were very disciplined in 2nd half.

Barca will go through in CL, they will dictate the game but not win by much in the end!

On the last ten minutes Barca look like they deserve nothing, not a chance created.

Valladolid could have had a few more with a bit more craft

Thank god, was worried they'd bottle it.

    Over to you Real.

The funny thing is, I have a soft spot for Athletic Club Bilbao ;)

But then, I have that coupon on both Manchester teams, Athletico Madrid and Bilbao to win, which gives me 9/2...on a 2 Euro free voucher :D

Jese out for the rest of the season after tonight after a "complete tear in cruciate anterior ligament of right knee". Real shame that. Thought he had a chance of going to Brazil given his recent performances.

That's a real shame. He was having a brilliant season.

Not Spanish, but that's nothing compared to the league table in Romania's third division in the 80's:

Hopefully Depor secure their place back in La Liga, the Riazor is one of the more atmospheric grounds in Spain from what I recall. Still remember the final game of the season they were relegated where they had to win a few years ago now, but couldn't score for the life of them. Atleti's Adrian missed so many chances that day.

And 70 year old Cesar Sanchez played out of his skin!

Sparkling, champagne football as Barcelona continue where they left off at the weekend. It's vintage football as Messi finds Sanchez who finds Neymar.
