Now all I need is a normal-mapped Faithful32 and I'm set for life

How does water look on the mod? Also - links? And does it work with FTB? ;)

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/940974-172sonic-ethers-unbelievable-shaders-and-glsl-shaders-mod/

    It should work with FTB.

BUT BE WARNED: Even with optifine, I only get around 40FPS with the shaders on, despite getting ~200FPS on regular with optifine and a 32x32 texture pack

tl;dr: you need a beast of a machine to play properly.

I don't think I've ever had a better reason to upgrade my computer...

Made a video with the shaders in it

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭AirBiscuit

Right, I tried the newest version of the shaders to see the difference.
    It's a big difference.

I'll try to do some of the normal maps for faithful32 to see if I can make it look even better

EDIT: Here are some of the normalmaps so far.

Right, did up a few normalmaps, but unfortunately they're not intense enough to see properly so it's kinda hard to see the effect

    Without a normal map:

    With one:
    7pgQYb.png

EDIT: This shows it off much better

EDIT 2: Here's another. At this rate I'll do the entire texture pack.

I'm kinda sad though, I was working on really nice high-resolutions normal maps until I found out that they have to be the exact same size as the texture they're applied to.

This was going to be what was applied to stone bricks:

Instead, this is actually what's on them (not actual size, scaled up to show the loss of detail)

I'm about halfway done, here's the texturepack for anyone who has got the shaders working: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=84F1E8A735C72D58!444&authkey=!ACwMGja9LmA_jEE&ithint=folder%2c

Botulism I'd love to see what some of my builds look like with all those shaders and things set up, but there's no way my laptop could handle it. Could you be persuaded to come and take a screen-cap of some of them for me? I can pay in in-game currency if you want!

I visited your place yesterday, your builds are already so pretty, I bet they would look ridiculously good with shaders.

The pixel art above your house gave me a good chuckle too.

You want to go here - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056717312

Post your username asking to be whitelisted, once you are you can go onto the server. If you're unsure, Vanilla means normal Minecraft with no mods.
