Are people still deluded here ?? Like there is talk in previous posts about Manchester united overturning a two goal deficit.
1984- The last time Manchester United overturned a two goal deficit from a first leg The Cup Winner’s Cup quarter final in 1984 against Barcelona saw Manchester United come back from a two goal deficit to beat the Catalan club 3-0 in the second leg at Old Trafford. After seeing some of the worst performances in recent years at Old Trafford we think that a manager who has consistently proved to be tactically inept , we now suddenly think that we will go through ?? Am I missing something ? This is the man that has spent £37million on Juan Mata to use him in the same way as Ashley Young then he clearly has no clue as a manager.

Get your bets on lads Man Utd to qualify for Champions League quarter-finals @ 23/11 with Betfair , I for one will be staying away from that !
Stats like that are pretty useless without you telling us how many times they've been in a position where they've had to overturn a two goal deficit from the first leg. At a guess I'd say there have not been too many times they've tried to do it. Also the opposition will obviously have to be taken into account.

Go find out how many times Utd have been two goals down to a fairly average side in Europe since 1984 and not turned around the tie.

Say what you will about the The Glazers but , they are intelligent business men. People are talking that he wont be fired due to having a big pay off so I did a bit of diving into their NFL history of sacking and found that they have fired three NFL coaches for not meeting min requirements, Raheem Morris in 2012, Greg Schiano in 2013 , and Monte Kiffin in 2009. For this reason I reckon that Moyes has a clause in his contract for min requirements and I reckon that Wednesday exit will see him sacked. I reckon the min requirements might be Champions League football.

There was some mention of it in the build up to the barca - city game. I think that it was 3 times in total that a 2-0 has been overturned in the CL knock-out stages.

Your team are 90mins away from the last 8 of the Champions League against a well beatable team, and you wouldn't mind them losing just so the current manager gets the elbow.

    nice!

Swear to God some of you's are spoiled (more than likely in the 20's age group) and when you's return to top form (which is enivitable) then I hope at least Moyes legacy will be to weed out and remove this horrible trait from so called 'fans'.

    Glory hunters in its prime.

I could never wish my team to lose.

Yes for the wellbeing of the club, given the choice a defeat and a sacking of Moyes would be much more beneficial.

As to the rest of you post, lazy predictable bollix.

If we go out on Wed, don't get 3 points at West Ham and get humiliated by Man City, then I think he's gone.

Every likelihood of all that occurring !!

The club have already accounted for no CL next year, and it's even been reported that big-pay friendlies would happen if there was no EL. In fact, it may be preferential to play these friendlies than low-key EL games. They might favour 8th place over 7th! :pac:

The club's hierarchy have already written off this season, they won't over-react to results like yesterday. Like it or not, it should be obvious that Moyes will be given into next season at least to prove his worth.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I'm sure I'm not alone in that line of thought.

    Disagree with that.

I don't think he knows how to play the role of a Central Midfielder.

He is very slow, doesn't win many tackles and never appears to link defence with attack. He's also missed a few sitters since joining and his shots are woeful

I'd say he's quick enough in a 100 metres but over five yards he's just not quick enough. Therefore not suited to the closing down, pressing game. Just doesn't get turned quickly enough.

Not sure where you are going with 'at highest 6th'. 5th place is still very achievable. Also I'm sure it won't be just Moyes making the decisions on how to spend the money.

That would mean a decline from both Everton and Spurs and a turnaround in form for United

Is it possible? Yes, but getting 4th is still mathematically possible.

I'm past the point waiting for a turnaround.

It was Jon Gruden they fired in 2009 and that was after a few years underachieving, they gave him a lot of rope as he won them their solitary title.

Schiano was quickly canned (by NFL standards) as he was a disastrous appointment who fell out with everyone, lost the dressing room and had a talented team woefully underperforming. They'll pull the trigger soon if they feel the need.

Grammatically speaking, it is a title and is, therefore, capitalised. :P

If we just look at our home form under Moyes this season :
-Man Utd have taken the same amount of pts as Norwich & 1 more than Palace
-Have scored the same amount of home goals as Fulham.

Please someone take that chosen one banner down !!!!!!

I don't want to lose (that's part of the problem with Moyes).

But if we lose, I won't be devastated. Not only do I expect it now as the norm, I can accept it will help speed the departure of Moyes.

Our 2014 form is genuinely relegation material. Utterly abysmal. 4 wins and they were against 4 of the bottom 6

A decline? All it would take is for each of them to lose one game more than Utd for the remainder of the season. We're also in better form than both of them over the past six games.

    No we're not.

    United: LDDWWL (8 points)
    Everton: LWLLWW (9 points)
    Spurs: WWLWLL (9 points)
