You know what, I was only talking to a friend about this the other day... How about Pep?

Before people jump in mass off the deep end, have a think.....

He left Barca as they dominated and there was nothing left for him, no challenge as such.... A man such as Pep needs to be challenged... I think with records being shattered on a daily basis at Bayern he may well find himself at the same place in his life when he decided to leave Barca...

But to reconstruct Man Utd.... Now that IS an actual challenge and if it is the case he wants to push himself rather than cruise at Bayern, then it may not be outside the realms of possibility, after all we are still (no matter about today) a massive club with a rich history that can attract top talent......

Just a thought but if we are the best why not go after the best?

Wayne Rooney on the Liverpool defeat via Manchester United's official Twitter feed: "It's a nightmare. It's one of the worst days I've ever had in football."

Rooney signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at Old Trafford in February

The semi-final against Sunderland was the most embarrassed I've ever been as a Man Utd fan. And I once fell down steps at Old Trafford in front of..well a lot of people.

Today was bad because, like some recent games, it was entirely expected. In the past I used to be a wreck watching the liverpool match...my nerves just couldn't take it. Today, I was oddly calm, like a drowning man accepting his fate.

Would like Pep, but I don't think he's going to leave the best team in the world right now after only 10 months.

Well Moyes has been bemoaning his luck all season, he got very f**king lucky today that it was only 3. How Liverpool only got 1 from open play near the end I'll never know.

Cannot see how he would leave Bayern anytime soon tbh.

Klopp would be my dream pick, think he's a fantastic manager, plays lovely football but I cant see him leaving Dortmund as he signed a new contract earlier in the season

Also about time Ferguson came out of the darkness and had something to say for himself. Moyes was his choice. He's the man who's probably keeping him in a job.

Ask SAF and the board that but I think Mourinho had a good say in why Pep left Barca tbh, he seemed really tired of that crap. The NT could be his next destination after Bayern imo.

Dortmund are having issues this season I think and with the liklehood of Bayern dominance for years to come he may fancy a new challenge on the summer.

The most disappointing about today is that it didnt even surprise me. We beat WBA last week 3-0 but in all honesty we were poor for long stages of that game aswell. We have been so static and ponderous all season that coming up against a fluid, fast Liverpool team was only ever going to end one way. The players are playing well below their ability, dont forget this same group (with the addition of Mata Fellaini and Januzaj) went toe to toe with Madrid in the Bernabeu 13 months ago. Now we look like a group of players who have been thrown together for a Sunday morning game. When teams win trophies, managers get the vast majority of the credit so on the flip side a lot of the shít has to land at his doorstep when things go bad.

A frightening scenario could develop on wednesday. If we happen to beat Olympiacos, what in the name of God will happen to us in the QF??? What happens when City arrive on Tuesday week??? Away trips to Goodison, West Ham, Newcastle and even Southampton???? This is going to get worse before it gets better.

I really hope Moyes goes at the end of the season at the latest. The thought of him getting his hands on £200m is terrifying. If he makes a balls of that and we end up playing as bad next season, thats another season written off . The board need to act and sort things out, starting at the top!

Since the January transfer window opened, in which time Moyes (by all accounts) had the cash to at least start the rebuilding, we've won 4 games, drawn 2 and lost 7 (counting the Penalty loss to Sunderland). We were booted out of the FA Cup and League cup unceremoniously, we lost the first leg of the CL match.

I genuinely believe that any other big team would have booted Moyes by now. In our bid to look above everyone else, we're letting everyone else rocket ahead of us.

I really wish he'd be sacked tonight :(

    True.

an honest opinion from an opposing fan...

Moyes or whoever takes the job next needs to weed out the wasters first.

there is a few players looking way too comfortable even when the chips are down, and it will only spill over into the younger members of the squad - so it's not really a Moyes problem but a good clearing out is needed imo before things pick up.

Honestly think the complete lack of support he's giving Moyes publically should be taken on board a bit....

Can't see Pep leaving Bayern yet. He'll not leave after one year.

Klopp would be a good choice for you but he may see another year out at Dortmund.

If it were me, I'd plump for Van Gaal right now. Vastly experienced, a born winner and plays good football. He'll garner respect from the players as well.

He's retired. He's a non-executive director. No need for him to be saying anything publicly really.

    Not a chance imo.

Van Gaal wouldn't be a bad start.

    No nonsense bugger.

Well he did give him backing a few weeks back when the pressure was coming on Moyes be interesting over the next week and a bit if nothing is heard from him could be very telling imo if Moyes makes it too next season.

He publically backed him only 2 weeks ago.

They basically have no centre back pairing for a lot of the season is their main issues I think. I reckon he will want to take on the Bayern machine for another season yet. Plus he is idolised at Dortmund and has complete control. Hope your right though

Van Gaal would be a great appointment. He s a grumpy oul cnut who doesnt care who he upsets. A lot of Bayerns structures were put in place by him. He is a proven winner and has the track record we need at the moment. He has also been in charge of huge institutions like Ajax, Holland, Barcelona, Munich etc. Moyes , i dont think realised the scale of what he was getting into. We dont need another manager with ''potential'' , we need proven success to stop us going into a long term decline. Another season like this and we will be cut adrift

I remember reading that article at the time, but thinking it hardly comes across as a ringing endorsement. Remember thinking it reads more like a guy who was cornered and had to give a PR-friendly answer, as opposed to a massive endorsement of a manager under fire.

He was also retired (essentially) when he stood in the centre of old trafford and told us all to get behind the new manager. He groomed him. He picked him. He should be made to defend his actions now.

Plus winning the title at AZ proves he can get the best out of average to good players as well as superstars.

Was over on United thread no.2 and someone must be handing out lemons.

League contenders but still talking about Fergie.

I doubt Fergie will lose support for Moyes soon but the business minded people on the board will, and some have I'd say

Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then

    Linkin Park, In the End

I think is a prefect description of Moyes tenure.

A game to brighten the day, a song to describe how things are now or how you want them to be?

Rubbish. He was or best performer today and is league's ahead of Flanagan and Johnson.

I had to check your profile to see if you were a pool fan taking the piss. Both of the above are rank full backs. Your comment is what's called damning with faint praise.

Whatever he was today he is not a good full back. Works hard. Brave. Good going forward. Decent cross. Not a defender at all however.

    By doing what exactly?

You know your team is in bad shape when someone that supports them says they can relate to Linkin Park lyrics.

Bizzare post to say the least
