    Hi Boards,

I currently own a Giant Seek 1 which I have for sale at the moment. It’s a really solid hybrid bike that gets me in and out of work each day. It’s been a great workhorse for me.

However, I wish to upgrade to a pure roadbike as I want to get into a bit of cycling in the Wicklow area ie: Sally Gap etc, but I have no clue what to look for....

I was told to buy carbon if possible and also to buy 2nd hand as I would get more for my €.

    My budget is about €400

Any help with what to buy would be most appreciated,

    Thanks,

    s2s

With your budget buy a good alloy frame bike as a carbon bike in that price range will be old, well used and probably not in great shape. You'd want to be doubling your budget to get a half decent spec carbon bike.
