Great pass by Sammy and finish by Stokes but our defending at set pieces had been poor and it cost us. Stokes lost Anderson for the goal.

Hopefully we'll up our game 2nd half, quiet game from Commons, need to get him on the ball more

Adam Matthews gave away the ball extremely cheaply in the run up to those corners. So both will be getting criticism from Lennon & Mjallby.

    1-2 Pawlett

Celtic have not been at the races since Stokes goal. Need to up their game now

    EDIT

Bad misses by Celtic & Aberdeen in quick succession!

    Balde on. About time too.

About time Commons was taken off. Robson & Flood had him in their pocket all game

Fair play Aberdeen, better team on the day. Lennon needs to have a better plan B when Commons is marked out of the game.

Missed the 2nd half, have to say very disappointed by the result. Our season ended today and Lennon needs to use the rest of the games to give game time to the fringe players.

Well that was rubbish. Very poor gutless performance, seemingly no plan to deal with Aberdeen's very obvious plan.

We've a whole bunch of strikers who seemingly couldn't score in a brothel. Samaras has been absolutely awful of late, he should not have started. And did I read that Johansen is supposed to be a good passer?????

Anyway congrats Aberdeen, deserved winners. Time to ditch the sports channels for a few months! :-)

Terrible stuff, not a good game to bring my 11 year old for his first taste of Celtic :(

I see Joe Ledley scored for Palace today

Roy Keane was at the match, I wonder what did he think of it.

He was probably there as part of his role in the Ireland set up, 4 eligible players playing yesterday

Stokes scored, so that was a bright spot for Roy I guess

Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has revealed he was planning to take up the offer of a new contract at Celtic before learning he'd been sold. (Scottish Sun)

Sorry Joe, not buying that for a second and I doubt any Celtic fan will. He was sitting on a contract offer with the view of running down his contact to gain leverage. Then again, I havent read his exact words so the Scottish Sun could be twisting things. They wouldnt do that, would they...

Belgian side Lierse now want to buy on-loan Celtic striker Tony Watt. (Scottish Sun)

If he continues the way he's been going since the winter shutdown, i dont think so!

Still trying to figure out the thinking behind Lennon and his tactics from the weekend. If it wasn't for his history with the club and all that's happened, he would have been gone long ago. Why buy these players when they are only good enough for the bench, ie Balde, Pukki week in, week out? If they aren't good enough to go straight into the team, don't buy them. The football being played is awful aswell. No wonder the ground is half full. The club has to be losing money surely week on week?

Not every player settles straight away and hits the ground running. Pukki & Balde may/may not come good but every transfer has risk. Scott Brown was at Celtic 3 years before he started playing like the player we paid £4m+ for! Would you flog him now? I wouldnt.

I also remember Celtic signing a player from Real Madrid i.e. Gravesen and he was a headless chicken with no tactical discipline despite demonstrating it brilliantly at Everton. Also we had a player that managed to play in the World Cup Final of 2010, Edson Braafheid. He was a disaster in his 6 months at Celtic leading up to those finals, how he made the squad is a mystery to me let alone get minutes in a WC final!

As for the bolded, Lennon has proven to be a very successful Celtic manager. Patience with his inexperience has shown to be the correct decision no matter what way you look at it. Obviously he can improve on what he's achieved and many Celtic fans, including myself, will back him to do so. There was/is no obvious, realistic, candidate that would get near what he achieved with the constraints he has to deal with.

I disagree completely about the football being played. In general its been entertaining as much as it can be playing against teams that park the bus and look to hit on rare counter attacks. Did you ever watch the football under Strachan or Martin O'Neill? It was more or less the same because we are so far ahead of the quality of the opposition but you'll always get blip performances and this season they seem to happen in cup matches. Again I back Lennon to rectify that in future.

I take it you havent seen the interim results, Celtc's current financial situation is the strongest I can ever remember.

And what good is money in the bank to a football club other than keeping the board happy? A marquee signing would have done wonders for attendances at the minute! I do remember the football from managers past, don't know what age you think I must be but thank you!! It's the lack of ambition at the minute that's making them horrible to watch. I know that's nobodys fault but Rangers but it's up to Lennon to keep them going, which he has shown he just can't do in cup competition.

Who exactly? Its a great idea in theory but reality keeps getting in the way.

Its well known, although not officially admitted, that several players turned down Celtic in January and it wasnt because of the money. A lack of ambition is not the same as not willing to overspend on players not really interested in playing for Celtic or having more interest in value for money in the transfer market with players that have potential.

These marquee signings that people talk about wont join Celtic in the SPFL until Champions League Group stages are guaranteed and normally that means, if they are obviously good enough, they'll probably accept another offer elsewhere whilst Celtic have to sit on their hands. Otherwise in that 2 week window, our options are limited when we have the carrot to sign players.

You just complained about Celtic buying the ilk of Pukki, a player that was only available to Celtic because we had the UCL carrot to dangle in front of him, and that Celtic should have kept their money in their pocket. Its the sort of risk you are talking about whether you realise it or not but then complain about a lack of ambition when it doesnt work out or hit the ground running! Thats the end of the market Celtic are in, its not going to change for the foreseeable future.

Nail on the head!! If we hadn't signed Pukki, you can be guaranteed that there'd be people in here moaning about missing out on signing him!!

Who decides when the transfer window opens and closes?

If its the spfl who decides it in Scotland would they not be better leaving it open for an extra day or two which would give Scottish clubs an option to pick up players who couldn't get transfers sorted before the other windows close around Europe.

Or maybe this isn't allowed or wouldn't go down well with the other leagues?

    Enlighten me if you can:confused:

SPFL decides AFAIK and it used to be the case that the deadline was 12 rather than 11pm. Not sure why they harmonised that because Scottish Clubs were often able to get in very sneaky signings!

Not unless he went on a goal scoring binge like finagbossan, although I see where you and Dempsey are coming from.
