Con, out of curioustly what are you ordering? I was thinking of doing the same tonight and want to be sure I'm not leaving anything out? Just to top it off, who are you ordering off? On line or local? Cheers:D

Few rashers on some toast is my favourite and a big glass of milk from the jerseys :D

Ah now you're talking. Can't be doing with plastic ****é in a tub. And it has to go in a dish on the table cos it gets too cold and hard in the fridge ;)
Much prefer timber. Was burning turf for a while and it makes a mountain of ash compared to the furze I'm burning now - need to find a fresh supply

Tis grand alright. We've a small forestry of the bástardin things. We call them whins though. Burnt them every year for years, had them pulled out with a digger. And they keep coming back. Have given up trying to eradicate them now.
If anyone is looking for a good thick whin to burn give me a shout :D

Just making a start, fanevalley online this morning.

Cobalt, selenium & iodine bolus, bolus gun, stockholm tar for necks, iodine for navels.

Calciject on the list, got glycerine already, have heptevac p+, have trodax but must look into using it this close to lambing now..., have lamb jackets left over, probably have rings, definately have ringer. Will have to check what management tags I have, get some spray marker.

More to get yet, and have to sort out bits and bobs from last year.

Got some hay, will need straw if I get tunnel up, need feed, need stakes and wire also, and a shít load more.

Grazon 90 for the low creeping furze. Chainsaw and paint the stump with roundup, or spot spray regrowth with grazon 90. That will murder them, but you'll need to watch out for regrowth from seeds.

Thanks for that, I'll try to convince the aul lad to give it a go again.
We though we had them gone a few years ago, but now. Bastards of things to handle as well when you're piling them up.

    I declare whin war

Do we have a todays cockup thread anyways? Anyway my fcukup for the day was not putting the catch back on the sheargrab! My dad was getting a grabful from the pit when it fell off. Thankfully it was low down, and nobody near it. only the one mangled hose, it flipped right back on top of the loader, could have done a fair bit of damage to the rams etc but thankfully not!

Did that one day with the tine grab one the loader! Was loading large square bales into a feed out wagon, bale tipped in lovely along with the grab. Luckily enough the hoses were long enough so no damage done, just a right prick to get out.

Could anyone tell me how much slurry a dairy cow would produce annually? How much storage would be needed for 50 dairy cows in an overground tank?

18cubs per year or 50 cow will produce 900cu mtrs = close to 200k gls in 365 days according to the law. sounds small to me

The law says our slatted tank should hold 80cows for the 16wk period, I've had about 65 cows in fulltime for say 10wks (mid nov- early feb), then afew wks at night before that, and I've been under pressure since late Jan. (call it 12wks fulltime). Will definitely need to go bigger, probably the same size again.
