    Has anyone played Juniper's Knot on the ipad, I think it's on pc as well. It's a very short but free visual novel, it only takes about an hour to play but it's definitely worth playing.

    Red Star on PS2, anyone? I've been tipping into it on co-op lately and having a blast with it.

    "Arvoesine"
    -> action platformer
    -> NES styled graphics
    -> free

    I'm quite liking this.

    It's only a 2 hour read so worth it since it's so short.

    While on the subject of books, just finished Wool, by Hugh Howey, very very good dystopian sci-fi, I'm going to get the followup next, published on the Kindle but apparently out there in paperback now too.

    Very good read all right. Shift, am shifts the story back to 'our' time and loses some of the magic.
    It begins to get interesting and it shifts again to another viewpoint at a different time. The first book(s) where Great as the stories flowed into each other well and the book had a nice pace. shift stutters a bit and I couldn't finish it and dust, the third one, is seen as the weakest of the trilogy.
    Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajneimi is a great sci-fi read and the sequel builds on it.
    Sea of Ghosts by Alan Campell is a great read. Just flings ideas at you and despite generic characters still manages to be original.

    Not a bad turn around.

    Here's a definite for a future rarity. La Mulana 2 is getting kickstarter. One of the tiers for $100 ($15 extra for postage) will get you aphysical copy of La Mulana 2. Add $50 extra will get you a physical copy of La Mulana 2.

    I'm waiting until I get paid next but definitely going for 1 and 2 physical. The first game was one of the all time greats.

    I started playing the latest Tomb Raider last night. The first hour is one of the most intense, brutal and promising openings I've played to a game in quite some time - a mainstream game where you actually feel like a fragile human being desperately trying to survive.

    Unfortunately, it's already gone really cover shooty :(

    Yep. It's a shame the survival elements teased at the beginning don't play a part through out.

    But the controls in it are really slick and it gives a great feeling of progress as you move through the game.

    I'd be more annoyed if it was a ****ty third person shooter but it's a pretty goodm one, just a pity it didn't follow up on what it promised at the start.

    New Nintendo console rumors

    http://venturebeat.com/2014/01/21/nintendos-next-console-and-portable-reported-to-be-called-nintendo-fusion/

    I guess 2013 really was a bad year for them.

    A lot of people are speculating that the speculation about the the speculated Nintendo Fusion is, itself, idle speculation, calling it fakey fake fake from Fakerstown, Co. Fake.
    It would seem like illtimed news, when you are trying to encourage support in a format only to leak the news of it's replacement.

    So much stuff on the net is poorly informed nonsense, like 98% of my posts, but this seems like a wish list of specs with no reality except in the mind of a Ninty fanboi, wildly fapping to the hoaxes popularity across the net.

    I'd say if it's true, it's just another console they're working on for sometime over the next few years. (most companies usually have prototypes and future ideas in the works anyway) - maybe if the Wii U continues the way it is they'll bring it forward by a year or two.

    Nintendo tend not to really abandon new hardware. I'd be very surprised if they did with the Wii U.

    Sounds like bull**** to me and there's no source either.

    don't nintendo bring a new console out every five years ?

    3ds is already half way through its lifecycle so these could be an indicator though still not to take very likely.

    I imagine they are planning the next systems since they take a good while to make

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

    I'd say it could even stem from something like a big focus on WiiU and 3DS interface, like the Vita and PS4

    Who knows though...

    All this talk of console prototypes has my excited for the Sega kickstarter book! :D

    It wouldn't surprise me if it is true, but then again, I'd also be very surprised if the PS5 & Xbox Two aren't already at least on whiteboards too.

    I hope Microsoft follow their unusual naming formula and call the next Xbox the Xbox 360.
