Yes, he's very upset about it at times. He can't go to school in any peace, he is in exile from the village as they'll be at him there. No kids call to play, despite our best efforts to invite.

Oh I tried the parent route  The apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Done my research on the board tonight, word from the inside is it's a sown up shop, what the principle says goes. Plus one of the offenders fathers is on it.

I am doing my best to teach him how to deal with it and I think that's making an impression on him. But it's wrong, wrong, wrong what is going on.

Con this is a very hot topic with DOE just now. There is a requirement that all schools have an anti-bullying policy and reporting procedure in place now, literally this month was the deadline. Follow the link, maybe you have seen this before, it gives a good outline of what the school should have in place and will at least give you the questions you need to ask to put a proper squeeze on the principal If she's already been informed and has made a decision on it then you as a parent are already entitled to go to the school board as you have already exhausted the first two options on any standard complaints procedure. After the board it's beyond the school you'll have to go. If it were my kid I'd be looking for blood at this stage.

I'm on the parents council in local school here and we were asked our opinion on the schools new policy at our last meeting a couple of weeks ago. I don't think we were really going to be listened to if we had any major problems. They had to "consult" us to dot all the i's and cross the t's but we looked for them to tighten up the reporting procedure as it left enough wiggle room in the definition of what constitued bullying to give teachers leeway to let "pets" off with things. The policy should be there, they have to have it. Ask the correct questions and know the procedure for taking this beyond the principal and the board b efore you talk to her. The last thing she wants is someone from the dept looking over her shoulder esp on something that's on the hot button at the moment.

There was a bit of movement later last night after I posted. Shall we say outside institutions were mentioned to solve the problem if the school wouldn't. Will see how developments unfold.

had an incident when eldest lad was in first class. He had been having problems with 1 lad for a while, i had been to the teacher about it. My lad brought his new nike football to school and this other lad took it and kicked it into an evergreen hedge. I was annoyed, next morning i asked x in the line where abouts he put the ball so i could look for it. That evening his mother came down to my house all guns blazing that i had upset her son:eek::eek: Thought that was the end of it the young lads father was waiting for me at school gates the next morning. I was pregnant at the time, he pushed me against the wall saying how dare i upset his son. I replied my child is upset everyday due to your child, he said thats different as its only a child causing the upset... he went on and on about how as his child is the second child in his family in the school he has more of a right to do as he pleases:confused::confused: and my lad has to pave his way up the ladder... holy fook... anyway i have never spoken to that prick or his wife again, they arrived down with an ew nike football for my lad that evening. its definitely not off the ground some kids lick it

Yeah a lot of these problems could be sorted at the source but some parents decide to stick the heads in the sand

a family nearby took their children from the local NS 'cos of bullying and are now attending a school 10 miles away

don't know the details (or do I want to) but I believe legal proceedings are pending against the offending family & the school

but why should you have to move your child? i did think about it but every child should be protected and thats what the schools anti bullying policy is there for, it doesnt matter if the bully is the child of a judge or what, every child is equal. I have never heard of a child being suspended in primary school for bullying

****e morning here. Electric playing up all morning, not enough power coming. Finally went at 8 when I had 4 rows of cows left to milk. Came back at 20 to nine. Only finished milking now. Then a cow that calved two days ago started fighting, she was the boss last year. Knocked down an old cow in the yard. Took me half an hour to get her up. Thought she was a goner.

Hmm yeh bloody calving season coming abit too quick here for me, still have afew sheds to get cleaned out and fixed up, and 3 fecking lame cows hogging some them anyways. Too many groups of cows here also, so fair bit of unnecessary work with them all. To think that I was originally planning on going skiing this week!

Ya leave the cows out today?
