Another thumbs up for the Brow Artist(s) in Ranelagh. They're only allowing existing customers have appointments for 3-4 month brows at the moment, shows how incredibly busy they are!!

I emailed them a couple of months ago but no reply. :( And the lady I go to in Dundrum only works the weekends. I got my eyebrows done in Dundrum recently by another lady and she totally butchered them She was so rude to me when I told her I wasn't happy. If anyone is going to Harvey nicks in Dundrum ask for Anjana, don't let anyone else do your eyebrows.

Unusual that in a recession, a business is turning away custom!

They're only taking bookings from existing clients at the moment for the 3-4 week brows. In fairness, they are really good and HD brows are all the go at the minute.

I'm just saying I don't know any other business that isn't taking on new clients, no matter how busy they are!

Oh and I made the mistake of calling them HD Brows when I was in an appointment with Liz, she was a little taken-aback, I got the impression they don't like their work being called HD Brows!

This is funny, I was talking about this at the weekend! I've never done anything to my eyebrows (blondey brown hair, but really fair eyelashes and brows), but I kinda want to now after trying eyeshadow and brow mascara and seeing how different they can make my face look.

Some horror stories here though of gaps and waiting months or years for it to grow out! Would ye recommend tinting and then threading? Or threading and using makeup to darken them? Don't want to go too dramatic at first, because trying it out at the weekend looked too dark for my face.

I have really fair brows like you!

I get them tinted and tweezed. There is no point in waxing mine as I have very little hair anyway. I only ever got them shaped at all for the first time 2 years ago :o And I'm 24.

Only problem is tint only lasts for about a week and a half when you have blonde hair, because too much can't be put on or else it'll be too dark. I keep meaning to buy my own tint to do it myself!

I still use an eyebrow pencil almost every day. Tried threading a few weeks ago and was extremely painful and uncomfortable, I'd say the lady hadn't a clue what she was doing. Never again!

Looked like this before...no shape really. But it didn't matter because you couldn't really see them anyway! They just stand out in that black and white photo..

They look like this now. More visible anyway :P

They are taking bookings from new clients for the 18 to 24 month eyebrows, but I don't think I'll risk it just in case I don't like them. Really, they don't like be called HD brows? Odd.

Liz explained it that HD brows is I think seven steps, waxing, tinting, threading, plucking, defining, etc etc.

The Brow Artist(s) are very very anti-waxing.

In any of my appointments Liz tinted, threaded, plucked the awkward strays and that was me done. Oh and she filled them in with brow powder.

They don't do HD brows but I've had my brows waxed and tinted a few times in the new benefit boutique on South William st and they are fab. I've always struggled to find the right colour for my brows and have always been a bit afraid of over doing it but the tint they give me is perfect, I get loads of compliments on them. And the staff are lovely

I used to get my eyebrows waxed all the time but since I started getting them threaded I don't think I could ever go back to waxing.

My mam is an avid eyebrow waxer, she can't stand threading. Different strokes for different folks I guess...

I get mine threaded. A woman (Maz) in mayo does them wouldn't go to anyone else now again after her. €10 for normal threading and then a bit pricer for tinting etc. know this post about Dublin but incase anyone down the country was wondering! Last around 3 weeks but suppose that depends on now quick your hair grows!

I go to a lady in Lucan who does it from her own house. I get my eyebrows, upper lip and chin (sometimes) threaded and the brows tinted for €24.00
She is very good and I am happy with her.
I tried the Body Shop before - couldn't be paid enough to go back there again. Used to go to Debenhams but they got stupidly expensive. Mandala Spa is also good but its a trip into town and more expensive than I currently pay.

Some of my hairs grow out instead of over! I use Benefits Brow Zings to fill them in but the wax doesn't help at all - any advice?

I used to have a few hairs in my brows that grew straight up as opposed to over, i used a strong hairspray - sprayed onto a brow comb. Over time I've trained them into the right direction.

I trim my eyebrows and it makes all the difference. I started doing this after I got them threaded for the first time and the therapist trimmed them too. I find it keeps them so much neater and they look far better. It's a bit daunting at first, but there are some great tutorials on youtube for doing it. All you need is a brow wand and a nail scissors.

(This video uses an eyebrow scissors, but I just use a regular nail scissors!)
