Funny but if you do any sort of a trade like toolmaking, fitter turner, builder, even felling trees, trigonomotry comes in very handy.

What age are you? That sh1t went out with the ark in most places.

On the trig you must never have had to set out any corners;). (3,4,5 anyone?)

    41.
it was a teacher in her last two years teaching when I started. Stupid stuff, you'd get a belt if you wrote with left hand, a belt if you fell behind in writing - which you did as you were trying to use right hand, and a belt if you were caught switching over to the left when she wasn't looking - which you did to try and not fall behind !!

Never had to set out corners.

Teacher had to explain to him to use one hand for holding the page when he was colouring in. He would be using both hands at the same time

What was it with teachers and their own children?
Our national school teacher belted her son left, right and centre.
So much so that he developed the habit of rocking forward and back very slightly in the seat. This habit drove her to distraction, and you can imagine the treatment dished out then to "correct" the habit.

It was so the other kids in the class wouldn't think it was favoritism. Usually felt sorry for them, poor sods couldn't even get away from their parents at school. And horror of horrors.......slipping up and calling them "Mammy":eek:

I had an old fashioned teacher, he was also a CC, used to pull the ears off us. i sorted that by getting mine pierced a few times:D
