    nope, theres a dog in the yard also and she barks when ever there is someone around.

    i had a calf went missing a few weeks ago, i rang dept and told them the story, they just took a note and i rang them back when i found him

    no but what im thinking is that if locals had stock taken, it would make more sense to take one animal from a few farms in one go or over a short period of time so that it wouldnt be as noticable as say 5 cattle taken from one field. ask around and see if any were taken off neighbouring farms in the last while and see if the time frame might add up....thats a theory

    no but what im thinking is that if locals had stock taken, it would make more sense to take one animal from a few farms in one go or over a short period of time so that it wouldnt be as noticable as say 5 cattle taken from one field. ask around and see if any were taken off neighbouring farms in the last while and see if the time frame might add up....thats a theory

    ah i dont think it was that now tbh. Our yard is at the top of the land and ye have to go through that to get to any where. Heifers werent up around the yard alot this year.

    That group were beside a neighboring dairy farm a good bit this year alright. She could have got into his herd and he never noticed. Very unlikely though because our bounds are well fenced and so are his.

    check there first as youd be amazed how cattle can find escape routes

    Is it only me or does everyone not count stock in a field when checking them? I always count cows then count calves as it saves me walking to go looking for them and I know how manys in each group

    Any way that's neither here nor there, turned out better for me in the end because we got a bigger plot of land :D
    Still have to find this heifer though.

    count calves alright. But heifers ye just expect them to be there. Won't make that mistake again

    He'd help you out if you were in financial trouble.
    First your stock and then your farm all at the best price going of course.
