    You can write 75+5+4+7*(10+1) as (1+10)*7+4+5+75.
    It makes 161.

    Ah gotcha. But the way it's written looks like you're timesing everytime else by 11. maybe put another pair of brackets after the 7 too.

    As in (7 * (10 +1)) + 75 + 5 + 4

    There are standard rules in maths so you know what order to do everything in.

    But you're right - it would have been clearer if I had written it like that.

    (7 + 6) * 75 = 975
    975 + 10 + 7 + 6 = 998
