Worked flat out for the last 4 days. Great feeling when you close the gate, silage in and all slurry out. Going to put the feet up today and watch the match.

Ya really can't beat the smell of sh*t about the place :D Had you a power of bales in it? Do you get a contractor for the slurry Pak?

No short bales. I think I'll go again on some. I had to graze the ground twice as I had cows out early. I normally buy a few every year but was talking to the contractor, he says that guys that normally sell a few are keeping them this year, just in case. I put out the slurry myself. Just love hardship here.

Are there any advantages to using Sulpha Can versus Straight Can this time of year on grazing ground and roughly is there much of a price difference in them at present ?

ye, theres something, plenty of muscle on him, he has no shortage of feed on him:D another point not many people would be buying a bull at this stage of the year unless they had a problem with another one. Those boys are pedigree breeders afaik also have commercial cattle

What dose are you using ???
How are the lambs doing for you ???

Weighed the cattle yesterday. A well worth while exercise.

Spring calves are on average 6.5months old at the minute and have started on nuts ~3wks ago with a view to weaning. ADG for heifers is 1.00kg and ADG for bulls is 1.14kg. Heifers on average weigh 240kg (range 190-300kg) and bulls are at 275kg (210-345). Are these good?

So folks, what should my strategy be now? What target weight for selling? When over the next few months is best to sell them? They're continental X's by the way and I'm holding the heifers as replacements.

Just gave them a fluke dose, probably not needed, Tribex. Gave all a bolus too. Was using Chanaverm Plus for worms earlier in the year, FEC tests tells me it works on my farm.

Not happy with the weights. Haven't done averages or growth per day yet.

Weighed the ewes as well, for the craic, never weighed them before.

Not a tick ever in anything, it's been a while since I used any vector, but now I think of it I did spray dip them since then.

Best of luck Conor. It is not the most important thing ever. Take your time and weigh up your options, you might not think it but you are only a young buck and time is on your side. You will be mullocking long enough.

Ah the FEC is a good job I reckon, lets ya know what ya have and if your dose is working or not. Not too dear either.

Yeah cobalt, Mayo Healthcare make them.

Weaned nothing yet, probably should have gone and done that today, theyll all be for stores so not awful pushed, loads of grass.
