The rain seems to have washed away all the pricks here for the Races.

They are all hiding in the inflated priced hotels in their appropriately labelled Spa's.

Ridiculously thick question but I got a shite aul netbook for free. It doesn't have a HDMI connection thingy but it does have a 15pin connection. Here's my awful question: you know the two retractable pins on either side of things on the left? Can it work without them being screwed into my netbook connection? I basically just have the middle 15pins like the blue plug on the left.

    Here's a big pic:

They are mostly just to hold it in place. It's to ensure a good connection. It will work without them, but may drop out because it isnt held in tight.

Ya it will as they are just the locking mechanism.

Thanks guys. What's a fair price BTW? I see pure chancers looking for €100+.

Just FYI DB the VGA cable doesn't carry audio - you'll need a separate audio cable for that. Depending what you're hooking it into you'll probably need a 3.5mm jack into an RCA stereo (red & white) audio lead

    edit : Looks like this

A fair price for the netbook or a cable? What's the model of the netbook?

I'm assuming the cable, which depends on what you want on the other end.

    To connect to a TV:

I wouldnt be paying €100 anyway.

Don't buy that particular one, lol, horrible ratings! I bought a combined VGA cable with an audio cable attached (inside the wire coat if that makes sense) and it didn't work, annoyed me no end. I'd get a separate VGA cable and audio cable. Also work out how long you need the cable to be (2m, 5m, 20m...)

Haven't had any probs with Belkin cables. £6 VGA here £3 audio cable here so basically shop around and make sure the reviews are good! Don't cheap out as you'll have it for a while but there are bandits.

Thanks guys. Was just hoping to stream football and rugby on a new TV so audio is not a massive issue. Just got a netbook free off a friend who got a Mac. I'm not even sure if the netbook is that good so I'm just going to test it out.

Just to show not to pay €100 for one.

I'm more scared than anything else. It's always a weird time when a new doctor arrives. I hated Matt Smith for the first two episodes but he's really grown on me since. I hope whoever it is will be a little bit more serious though.

I'm excited about the possibility of the 50th being shown in Irish cinemas in 3D! I'd love how with the new advances of 3D tech, it'd feel like you're in the Tardis!

There was talks Peter Capaldi had got a tonne of money put on him at the bookies yesterday to take over, but I'd worry how old and sweary he is :P

No matter who's announced I'm sure most people will criticise the decision until the first epsiode when they grow to like him.
I remember the Matt Smith reveal had him outside the Tardis and people didn't like him

Wonder how the reveal will be done since they haven't started filming the Christmas ep.

More importantly, is Jenna staying? If I was Matt I would try to take her as a souvenir but Robb Stark mightn't like that.

    Wow.

Almost as bad as people saying Wigan would get more than 10 million for McCarthy.

So far she's supposedly signed for the next series. She might leave after it though. She's hands down my favourite companion of the reboot series! It'd be sad to see her go.

    Stephen Moffatt said
It's the biggest secret in showbiz, even those working with the new Doctor on other projects at the moment have no idea they are in the presence of the 12th incarnation.

So ithey could be up and coming or they could be lead role. Find it interesting that he doesn't refer to the new Doctor as he or she so obviously still trying to keep it as quiet as possible.

Hope for their sake that it doesn't get leaked before the show and ruin their big reveal.

Where are the ads this year from Sky telling you how you should feel excited about the upcoming Premier League season(remember last years cringey ones 'He hewft it').
As for Bale I wouldn't feel comfortable paying that much for anybody never mind him.

3 Rockstar classics. Too hard to just pick one.

Two weeks off, get a new game brah! What console? Of the three I'd pick Red Dead. Absolutely loved the game, story, world, characters and side-missions. Yes!

PS3. I've had a look on sites like Gamestop but nothing really takes my fancy. Anything that I like the sound of, is FPS. I hate FPS games.

Yep. By far my least favourite of the main GTA games.

I actually considered GTA III but I always end up using cheats in the older games.
