    Great move for PK & NT, biggest name on Irish radio moving away from RTE is good for Irish radio as well. I like his radio programme a lot, but he's not suited to TV IMHO. He'll have a good wage from NT for radio alone, and not double jobbing for RTE, but he still has TV options if he wants them.

    It's plain to see what happened, I bet the so called "Big names wages" on RTE aren't too happy about their future prospects now. Not a bit of harm at all in that. I wouldn't miss Miriam, Joe "whine line", or Marion one bit.

    Don't think I've any real reason to tune into RTE radio anymore, maybe for the News at One, that's it.

    I wouldnt watch or hear him much but he is the most informed tv presenter I've seen no matter what the topic . Id say he fairly puts in the time doing his research . Id prefer him over Miriam o Callaghan any day

    I used to like her in that respect alright but her whiney , dozey voice has turned me off completely over the last couple of years !

    i always used to think Pat was ****e, he looked so uncomfortable with kids..i have to say though now thats tubs is doing the gig he makes pat look good he is so brutal

    gerry adams is on our local radio at least once a week , if ever there is a voice that drives me loopy its his, radio turned off straight away when he comes on

    Be interesting to see now who RTE put on instead of Pat - all the indications are Miriam!

    Radio One gets a bit of my time for Morning Ireland, News at One and 5 7 Live but other than that and the sport on a Sunday :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Even Sunday Sport is gone to the dogs with no Jimmy Magee and the GAA commentary since Michael left :(.

    For Wexford matches I'm now listening to Liam Spratt :rolleyes:

    Heard it described this morning on radio, that PK would always be metiulously prepared for every show. BUT, in RTE he would have had a big back room crew, of researchers etc, etc, to do a lot of donkey work.

    Apparently in Newstalk, you more or less do your own dirty work.

    How will he adapt to that?

    Pat Kenny's show will be 10.30 to 12.30 so unless Tom is happy with a half hour show before that I don't see him in that slot. They should put Pat on instead of Chris and that one who has all the shows Nora or whatever her name is and go head to head with Morning Ireland I'd listen to that!

    Sure he would be as well of driving a baler:D

    The cratur, couldnt hack the Late Late when it was on Saturday nights.
    RTE changed it to Friday, just to accomodate his social life:mad:

    Late Late wasn't on Saturday nights when he took it over - it has been on Friday's for as long as I can remember!
