Hold on fergal, I don't see any macker eels, just some half naked fisherman pretending to catch macker eels! Where's the proof?
When I were lad I'd have half a boat full in 10 mins.

There was a time when you could walk into the water in skerries and catch them as they chased the fry onto the beach. Some people are blaming the big boats from Iceland and the Faroes but I blame the porpoise that was following me around.:D

Thats an odd one. Is that the old rusted up one that has been sitting there for ages? Windows all broken and timbers all rotten and splintered?

in this weather even a cigarette butt could set it ablaze, lots of tinder in the form of wood spinters etc sitting on the deck.

It wasn't quite the weekend but here are a few from France - I had a free day on Weds so took the train to Nice, bus to St. Jean Cap Ferrat and did one of my favourite walks – the ‘Sentier du Cap’ – a coastal path built by the French Customs c 1800 that winds its way around Cap Ferrat. A great way to fill a half day or so and always some great yachts to be seen in the area.

This is ‘Eos’, owned by Barry Diller (Mr. Media, has about 150 dotcom cos including Expedia among other assets). If you include her bowsprit she is the biggest sailing yacht in the world. (Others claim that Maltese Falcon is really the biggest)

This beautiful sloop was stopped dead in the water a few moments before the photo – an ill-mannered MY passed unnecessarily close and her wash shook the wind out of the sails.

    9370876450_fd2f4c2410.jpg

‘Delma’ is the MY nearest the shore, the yellow funnel is ‘Nero’, a new build modelled on JPMorgan’s ‘Corsair’ – she’s for sale at the moment asking €60 million, (but she is economical ;) , burning only 450 litres an hour at cruising speed.) The 'water walker' in the foreground is using a jetpack,

Silencio was anchored off the lighthouse on the Villefranche side. Yours for $175k per week (for 10 guests in 5 cabins).

'Far Out' suffering from charter people - no sails on a beautiful sailing day!

I'd no access to AIS and when I got back most craft had moved so I couldn't identify several others I photographed.

Went out in the GP the other day for a quick sail around Sutton.

    Looking great at this stage.

Eventually this squall hit and I had to put the camera away. We got completely soaked, the rain was the heaviest in a good while and I only had my wetsuit on up to my waist with just a rash vest and my buoyancy aid on above that.

Pic taken a few weeks ago at the Springsteen concert. Myself and a few buddys headed up the Lee, dropped anchor and enjoyed the tunes with a few beers, one of the best nights I've ever had on the boat :D

That red boat skipper is a pig-ignorant idiot who had no business going anywhere near that mark in the first place and engine failure is not an excuse. Reminds me of those in rental boats who periodically tied onto Bulloch mark when fishing and hurridly sprung into action on realizing the combined fleets of Cruisers I and II were converging on them.:D

A great day yesterday at the "Carrick Cares Day" in Lough Key it was organised by Iwai Carrick and sponsored by Waterways Ireland, The day was focused on kids and adults with a wide range of disabilities and introducing them to different things the water ways has to offer with boat trips, fishing lessons and even driving some model boats. :) We had free access to the parks activities and there was also a BBQ and live music laid on.
All in all a very well organised day, it was great to see all the wheelchair users fishing with such ease and catching fish they would have stayed there all night if they could. My young lad also got a medal for his fishing attempt  more than I ever got:D There was a great turn out for the day but I don't want to post any photos of people with out them knowing.

Out watching the optimist leinsters in Howth at weekend. Over 90 little oppies competing on a cold wet and miserable saturday and cold sunday. Plenty of retirals and capsizes on the saturday. The mother ship had a string of 8 oppies tied off the back off her at 1 stage during the day. All fun on the slipway after racing.

Hope you got a great price for her Fergal.

Its a nice spot down there. Is the guy still working on the big steel cruiser over by the littlr gravel slipway? Was chatting to him in summer 2011 when I was last down that way. Oftern launch out of Coosan and keep meaning to pop over to see how he is doing.

Are they keeping it at lakeside?

Lots of admirers of Sean-Nós here so I hope the new owners appreciate what they have and treat her in the manner to which she has become accustomed. If not, we may have to form a posse and raid Glasson with a trailer!

Robbin is still working away on the boats and a lovely man he is too I could talk to him all day.:) They will be keeping her in Wineport at the workshop and launching from that little slipway.
