Call me late to the party, but Game of Thrones is ****ing awesome!

Just finished episode 9 of the first series, one more to go. Really should have started it sooner.

Trying to get caught up before whatever big twist occured last week is spoiled on me :P
I dont watch it, I'm just curious to see if you take the chance and read this. :pac:

I've just joined the walking dead watchers! I've been reading the books for a while now so the show is really fcuking with my head, in terms of new characters, new scenes and nobody looking in anyway similar to the comic!

No chance I'm highlighting that spoiler :P

Aha. I've started GoT this week too and finished the first season just there. Also nearly up to date on Breaking Bad.

Watched the first season of Breaking Bad this week, I enjoyed it lot more than I thought I would. I'll catch the rest of it on TG4 double bills Wednesday nites.
Didn't think GoT was that great this season, when it was good it was great but other episodes felt dragged out and flat.
Anybody getting the Last of Us tomorrow?

Random game recomendation: the XBLA title "State of Decay".

Already the second fastest selling game on XBLA (behind Minecraft). Have got a good few days out of it, and for an XBLA game, it's really good. It's a zombie survival game, where you have to gather resources, recruit survivors etc etc. The story arcs tend to end rather abruptly (laughably so), but some really good ideas and should hopefully lead to a proper full game with the money it's raking in.

I've been reading the books but I've never watched an episode. I'm on the fourth one of the series. I may be the only person in the world who is a big fan of the books but has never watched an episode.

I don't like watching things based on books I like so I'll probably never watch them. I did briefly see the guy who plays Tyrion and he looks nothing like the Tyrion of my imagination. That kind of thing annoys me. :pac:

Someone recommend me something new to read. Non sport, non wrestling. Need something new to sink my teeth into.

Also Joe Kinnear new DOF at Newcastle. Just lol.

I feel like I'm missing out on all these shows I watch a fair bit of tv shows on the laptop but have never seen any of these major ones. I probably will eventually watch theme but I haven't seen an episode of game of thrones, Spartacus, walking dead, lost, 24, breaking bad.. Pretty sure I'm missing out on a few there as well :-/ add in I don't know watch south park, family guy or American dad and it's amazing how I have any ability to socialise.

What do you watch if not watching those shows? Though I've only started Breaking Bad myself. Watched the rest of those shows. And True Blood starts back tonight.

Bought a new laptop and don't know whether I should I buy Football Manager 2013 or wait till 2014. Haven't played it in ages and have a yearning to play it again.

I had read half the first book, so once I got past the fifth episode, I really had nothing to compare it to. Even then, the book I got had Sean Bean on the front cover, and I knew of some of the casting from the show (espeically Dinklage as Tyrion, given I know him from other shows as well), so didn't get much chance to actually form that image myself.

Halfway through S2 now, and kicking myself I didn't start this sooner. Such a great show.

Off on holidays on Tuesday though, so that'll stop me from watching for a while. Have Breaking Bad S1 on my iPad for the flights though, and downloading some OSWs as well to keep me going :P

Whats the last version you played? 2013 had loads of changes and a lot of people struggled with the changes to the match engine. If it's been years, it may be too complicated to just jump into.

I hate the newer Champ Managers. Just too complex for me.

You can download 01/02 for free. Best version ever. I've been playing it on and off for a year.

Can't think of the last one I really properly played probably 2007/8. Played all the new seasons on the iPhone but I'd say they aren't really comparable.

The mobile FM games always drive me nuts how simple they are. :(

Currently playing a save file on FM2013 where I'm in 2025. Chelsea are now constantly in the relegation zone, and Arsenal regularly go 30 matches without a loss :S

Roman left them and Eamon Dunphy was RIGHT :/

    I highly doubt that.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,762 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

It depends which app your talking about. Score Centre is just a results/scores and news service and you wouldn't need a subscription. Other apps for watching sky do need a sub.

I think you can just get a friend to allow you use their account to watch the sport on the go. One of my friends did it with his girlfriends account. Haven't the foggiest how you'd do it though.
I fear for tahiti in the next two games.

You sure can, all you need is the log on info. They have limited the number of devices that can use sky go to try and stop people abusing it.

I downloaded the app. It said 6 euro a month and no need of a sky sub.

    Not tried it yet
