Why can't you get it in Ireland btw? This is a very convoluted process. Especially since it ships from the Dublin office. Can you go to the Google office and ask for one?

Because Google are selling the phone at cost price or even maybe a loss in the hope of making the money back on purchases of movies, books, music and apps. Since all the services aren't available here they have less chance of making the money back so they see it as a non viable option to sell the device in Ireland.

I'm going to Boston in July, can I just buy it there and bring it home with me?

Some people reported that some Walmarts had them, not sure how true that is or at what price they were/are selling them but if you can't find it in a bricks and mortar shop then I'm afraid not.

I have a mate over there, I'll get him to keep an eye out. Cheers.

If you could get your mate to pay for it and just give him the cash when you get there or forward the money to him somehow he can order online for you directly from the Play Store and send it to his address and you can get it off him when you head over or just get him to post it on to you.

You just need a US credit/debit card to buy from the play store directly which hopefully your mate has.

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong here.

If he lives there and has an American credit/debit card he can just order it off the US play store and you can pick it up and pay him for it when you go over there.

They actually ship from the UK. The Dublin team fulfill the order is all.

It'll be less of a hassle to buy it from Flubit than in the US, especially if you have to return the device due to a problem. It's not nearly as convoluted as it seems.

How much does the 16GB generally work out costing through Flubit? Is it around €330?

I'd say €330-€340, depending on the offer from Flubit and whether you're using your free stays at Parcel Motel or not.

This evening I should get replacement device-they didn't do any problems to send it to PM address.
I ring to TNT tomorrow to arange colection faulty Nexus.
Did you ring to TNT in Ireland or UK? Also did you get confirmation from google that your package was received and your money was back on your bank account?

I'm just asking because if TNT shouldnt collect our faulty phones from ROI it could be problem to deliver them to service in Poland and get your money back...

How did that work for you? I'm considering doing the same but wondering just how much hassle is going to be involved. (It was bad enough trying to get the phone in the first place).

Haha, you and me both. I was shocked. Turns out the 16GB is needed if you're installing some of dems new games. Having 5GB left of the 8GB wouldn't be ideal.

whats really shocked me is wifi speedtest. On my nexus one on wifi it says 3107/1562 on the nexus 4 it shows 5154/3663 much faster even on that! All I need now is a simcard...mine is too big for it :(

You can cut them but I wouldn't unless you're a man of precision in the ways of the crafts. I'm not, I'd have fu*ked it up, so I just got a micro SIM from the Three store. If you're near a store and you're quick, you could get one before they close.

Also the radio is HSPA+, which is useful if you're on Vodafone or Three. Both networks support it and it should get you even better 3G speeds than you're used to if you're on either network.

im not and its a corporate sub, so i dont imagine the shop will do it for me either, unless they will cut it....which they wont i am sure...Argghh will have to wait a bit longer now..will take them a week at least to get me a new sim

    Hi All,

I was just reading the instructions from DECEiFER, where there is a mention of needing to repeat the process with Flubit if multiple devices are required. However, when I went to create the offer, I was asked how many I wanted - so I put in 2. Has anyone else ordered two devices in this way, or should I just create two separate offers with Flubit as described in the instructions?

    Thanks,

    R

    Hi,

I had a feeling that might happen. I was going to amend the post but I need a mod to do it. What I actually meant was separate products but you can order multiple quantities in one demand with one product. I didn't explain it properly.

Keep going with what you're doing, it's fine.

Thanks for the clarification DECEiFER, the instructions really are excellent!

It can take a few weeks. I don't know if much has changed in the month since I got mine but back in April many people were waiting about 2 weeks for 16GB models to ship.

I just demanded an offer as I've decided to go for the Nexus 4 after nothing new was revealed at I/O but I'm hesitant to bite the bullet with Flubit, a few people over on bargain alerts have had some issues and a it seems a few people on this forum have had to constantly contact them to get updates over long periods of time, slightly worrying.

You might have to chase Flubit but it's better chasing Flubit than it is chasing Google. That is, Google would keep you in suspense also and you could easily be waiting as long all the while wondering if they're going to cancel or ship it.

Flubit are quite friendly and easy to deal with and they have to make inquiries to Google on your behalf to get you the answers. Dealing with Google's customer service (or lack thereof) is painful. Better them than you. :)

But in the end you will get it after a few weeks and that's why it's better that you use Flubit. Plus, it's cheaper! The only way to get a Nexus 4 quicker, I presume, is to go the Amazon route and pay a lot more (around £80-100).
