Possible data protection issue there no ?

I just ran the LightBleed app. The display has light bleed issues, especially at the right hand corner (not uncommon).

I suspect this Nexus 10 has been returned to Google because of the light bleed. I'm glad I'm dealing with Flubit and not Google directly. Looking on the XDA forums, people are receiving previously returned models when buying new Nexus 10's from Google. Back in the box it goes. Hopefully, I'll have more luck with the next one.

Because you'd have to go to Flubit about it? Sure. Their account bought the tablet so Google would just be like "Huh? What email did you use to purchase the tablet?" I've been there when I had to return my first Nexus 4! I wasted a good €4 calling Google when I could have just spoken to Flubit, which I subsequently did, and they were on the ball.

Bunch of chancers! They could at least fix it first. You're absolutely right to return it and yeah, you'll get Flubit's cooperation right off the bat.

When I turned it on for the first time, it displayed the first name and google account of a previous owner (assuming it is a past owner). I'm not sure how much more of this guy's personal info was or is still on the Nexus 10 now that it is linked to my Google account.

It's sloppy work from Google's UK store, I'm not sure how prevalent it is. Has anyone else encountered this?

Very impressed with Flubit and Parcel Motel. I will definitely be using them in the future.

Created a demand for a Nexus 4 (8GB) last weekend, got an offer on Monday.
Placed order Monday night and had the phone in my PM this evening.

Overall, very cool services provided by both Flubit and Parcel Motel.

That's just unbelievable. They don't even do a factory reset before they try and screw you, haha. They either mustn't care or they have no idea they're even screwing up - some devices may have slipped through the cracks (d'oh, hopefully not real cracks, mind you!).

Jesus that was quick! Though the 16GB has a much higher demand, I believe.

You do you guys manage with 8/16gig of internal storage and no sd card slot?

It's the only thing I don't like about the phone.

    ---edit---

Re: receiving a device thats setup for someone else. I was just looking at the google site and you can tick a box "Link this device to my Google account" when ordering. Maybe someone cancelled their order or the devices got mixed up and sent without checking who it was linked to?

Funny enough, I think I've come full circle with phones and storage, I really don't think there's any need for massive storage space anymore. With services like Dropbox, Spotify, Netflix etc there's really no need. Off load it to a cloud somewhere and it's there when I need it, and from every device. For me, internal storage is only used for apps, app data, the odd pic (which is synced to dropbox anyway) and the rest is like a cache, always changing!
I don't need to bring everything everywhere. This phone is perfect for this!

+1 on that. I got the 16gb & now I'm thinking the 8 would have done. It's easy to swop stuff out with a pc, plus cloud does seem to be the way forward.

I never really got into the whole cloud thing for mobile devices (or hoem pc even), also my data doesn't allow for much cloud usage. It sounds like it might not really be an issue anyway, I still have a proper mp3 player I use for music.

Whats the battery like, it seems poor-ish going by reviews. I get nearly 2 days with my htc one v, or a day with heavy browsing and using gps

Hahahaha. Nice one. Did it come with his Google Account sync'd completely from emails to calendar appointments, assuming he uses Gmail and Google Calendar? It's probably just the account they make orders from and he might not use it personally at all. As Cap'n M says, I think they'd still be happy to hear from you and I'd say he should change his password immediately.

    That's what I suspect.

I messaged Flubit about it. I'm not sure if I can live with the display's light bleed. It's not too noticeable with general use, I'll give the N10 another few days.

Hopefully it'll go away but if you can't, they'll get the RMA process started and you'll still be able to use the one you have until the new one arrives.

Just heard from Flubit about the account linking business. The accounts are nothing, they do use their CEO's name but they aren't worried about them. I've mentioned that there's a checkbox that can be unchecked to prevent the device being linked to the account before it's shipped. Hopefully they'll uncheck it in the future. My Nexus 4 came unlinked and until now we didn't have anyone post about the issue, so perhaps it was an occasional oversight, is all.

But that's the matter all cleared up. If anyone comes asking about it, at least we now have the official word.

Bertie, indeed it is! That's what I was told. I looked the man up about a month ago but his name escaped me until I heard from Flubit today.

Very close to caving in and buying an N4. I know that these days there's literally always something newer and shinier just around the corner, but I'm just wondering if there's any official word of an N4 update or sequel?

Nothing official just yet, but there is the rumor that at I/O a 32GB LTE version might surface. However, LTE at the moment isn't feasible when you're selling one unlocked version throughout all regions. There's too many bands. The current iterations of the Nexus 4 have an unused (by software) LTE chip inside that once triggered can utilize the LTE services offered by carriers on Band 4 (1700MHz to 2100MHz). Unfortunately, when Vodafone and the others launch LTE in Ireland, it won't be on Band 4.

The next Nexus phone isn't likely to surface until later this year. Very soon, phones will come with LTE that'll work globally and it's because there's a chip in development, due to be seen in hardware (tentatively) in Q3/Q4 2013. It'll solve the problem of only supporting only a few bands.

    http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/22/qualcomm-first-global-lte-chip/

So maybe rumors of a 32GB LTE Nexus 4 are not feasible because of that revelation? Who knows? I think it's possible but they'll probably only partner with x amount of carriers and their supported bands. The rumors are pretty strong both in favor and against it. Check this out, also.

Google I/O is on May 15th, so if you're willing to hang on for just over a week, watch the day one keynote, where it's likely that it'll be Android-centered, as it has been for the last 2-3 years - with new Android versions announced, alongside the WiFi Nexus 7 at 2012's I/O. The Nexus 4 and 10 weren't announced until later in 2012, coinciding with Hurricane Sandy's devastation in New York and other eastern areas of the US.

But again, everything is just speculation at present, so please don't take my word as the gospel.

As above, wait a week to see what Google I/O brings and take it from there then, its unlikely there'll be a new Nexus device until later this year but the Motorola X phone which is supposed to be running stock Android and be a candidate for first updates just like the Nexus devices is rumoured to be part of the show so it may be worth seeing what that brings first.

I too have been waiting for a while for the 'Order Payment' bit to be confirmed since near a week ago. it was confirmed on the spot by Payoal, but not by Flubit so I was kinda worried.

Just a few minutes ago, I got the 'Order Dispatch' message. So is it currently being sent to the Parcel Motel?
