Just got a mail from google saying my Nexus 4 has shipped. I'm assuming that means I got away with using a NI address for CC billing. Very excited! Got it shipped to relative in the north rather than parcel motel though-need a reason to visit soon :)

Nice one!. It's checked in at Belfast at half one. I actually partly didn't want it to arrive til early next week cos i've a few jobs to do around the house. well that's that fu**ed. Is it likely to be in Carlow later today or tomorrow?

My nexus 4 got checked into parcel motel in belfast at half 1, will I have it in cork by tonight?

    Unlikely. 7am tomorrow, I reckon.

I'd say first thing tomorrow, mine was checked in about the same time of the day and I got the text saying it was in the Midleton motel at 5.30am the following morning. But you never know!

Would be very interested in hearing your views on nexus 4 vs xperia z.

1 thing I am looking forward to it not having to open hatches to get the charging cable/handsfree into the phone, that is a pain in the arse. Screw waterproof-ability. Other than that Xperia Z is a fine phone.

Just to mention, MiCrO has duplicated my thread on the Nexus devices ordering process so it's now at a new URL, even though the old one is available (thought it might have been best to just sticky and lock the existing one but it doesn't really matter).

This also comes with one negative effect, I cannot edit the post, I'll have to contribute revisions via a mod in the future, but I believe every post has an expiry anyways for when edits are no longer possible unless you have higher permissions so, again, it's not a big problem.

The new URL is in my signature now but I'll paste it here also:

"6am - Belfast Central Depot - Loaded to vehicle for delivery".

That sounds positive - at least it's moving. Parcel Motel hasn't indicated that they've received anything yet.

It was at my local PM pick-up point at 8:30PM. :)

I feel the mods should put your post in with the other Nexus 4 ordering sticky (by Beezkneez!). What's the point in having 2 stickied threads about, basically, the same subject, each with only one important post?

Waste of forum real-estate, imo. :D

I suggested that he could sticky the exiting one or merge it into this one:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056878068

This thread here should be renamed as you already mentioned, and I quoted that post in my PM to MiCrO. He hasn't been in the office so I suspect his time was limited today in which he could action my request(s). I'll say it to him or one of the other mods another day (as I've bothered him enough with some more requests today) or maybe you could PM him.

If this thread is left for discussion only then people won't come here looking for the solution on the first page. I really don't want any replies in my thread as it'll better serve people if it's a one-post sticky. If this thread had the post on the first page, you'd still have people coming in and not looking for it, and then asking for someone to explain the process to them.

Can't touch it till tomorrow. I'll never get to bed.

Even this way I probably won't sleep with the giddy anticipation (I'm like a kid on Xmas Eve).

I don't know how you do it! Unless I was absolutely shattered and nothing appealed to me more than just collapsing in bed, I'd never be able to table it until tomorrow. :P

Let us know once you have a poke around. :)

    30 April 2013 10:22 - Created Flubit demand
    01 May 2013 17:09 - Flubit offer created
    01 May 2013 18:43 - Flubit offer accepted & paid
    03 May 2013 09:00 - still waiting .....

Dispatch date is given as "Wed 8th May - Mon 13th May", I doubt I'll get it by next Monday but I can hope :P
I'll come back and update my Nexus 4 journey once it's complete to keep the estimated cycle duration up-to-date.

Has anyone bought a cover/case for the Nexus 4? Apparently with it being almost all glass it's quite slippy when left down and quite scratch prone too.
Doing a bit of shopping last night I found this, http://url.ie/hd8g. Currently it's my top runner. Does anyone have experience with other covers that they would recommend?

Also with the screen being slightly curved around the edges do people find screen protectors to fit properly?

Getting a message "Your credit card isn't valid. Please try again, using another funding source." when a pay via Flubit.
Any Ideas? Do you need to have your paypal account funded?
I have an AIB visa card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Fluffy88

If your card is verified with paypal you don't need any funds in your paypal account, it will get credited straight to your card.
Actually I think even if your card isn't verified you can still pay through paypal without having the funds in your account.

You do need to add your card to your paypal account though.

How long dies it usually take to process the order on flubit? I made my 2 evenings ago and it's till not confirmed, even tho PayPal confirmed it.

My card is added and been verified. I wonder if google have copped onto all the flubit orders? anyone order recently?

I've mailed Flubit support and will see what they say.

9:50 - Support got back - suggested checking out this link - https://flubit.zendesk.com/entries/23595256-Payments-on-PayPal

Tried to pay as guest, got error below:
This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued it. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Please enter a different card.

Time to call AIB I guess.

Update: AIB blocked transaction. Tried again and made order!

I got the Acase Superleggera Pro Hybrid dual layer Case for LG Google Nexus 4 (Nexus 4, Black) totally love it. You can get it in all sorts of colours, here's the link to black one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00B4I2GJU/ref=pe_217191_31005151_3p_M3C_dp_1

Picked this baby up last nite, Love the phone. Perfect size, feels so good in the hand, thought the Z was a bit square. Z defo has more of a robust feeling to it but like I said before the hatches are a pain. Have all the apps sorted on the Nexus now too so laughin. Defo recommend.

From reading the last few pages it's taking approx 2 weeks for the phone to be delivered so waiting 2 days is okay :) It'll be worth the wait, I hope :pac:
Generally the phone won't be delivered within the Estimated Delivery period. Apparently if you call Flubit it helps to get the order moving.

    @MacBoogerBalls
Sorry to hear your having problems, last thing you want when you have to wait so long already is more delays!

    @Leslie91
Thanks for the suggestion, I've seen that case mentioned on another forum alright. I'd hate to hide my beautiful Nexus though :P Does that cover add much bulkyness to the phone? It looks like the case is pretty big.

    Not really. It's funny, after using the Z for a week or so, the Nexus feels smaller and so having the case on it gives it a serious phone size/feel. I also got one of these but prefer the Acase one;

+1 on this case. Mine just arrived in the post this morning. I'm very happy with it. Buttons are very responsive & it fits very snuggly. It's not very bulky & I like the small lip over the screen edge which should give some protection to a direct fall. I had a cheap one from eBay & this looks nicer & offers better protection.

    Found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134041
Goes through the feel of a few different cases, he has used the Ringke Fusion I posted and his comments are very negative on it.
Unfortunately he didn't try the Acase Superleggera so I don't have a direct comparison, but from looking at the case it probably gives the most protection and it's users seem happy so it looks good as a buy for me.

The only other thing I would be worried about with the Acase Superleggera, does it make swiping from the edges of the screen difficult?

Not for me. Pull the trigger.

Thanks, I will. No rush though coz I probably won't have the phone until late next week at the earliest.
I don't know if I can last this long :P

If u order it from US (the black one) it takes a while to get here and last thing u want is the new Phone and no protective jacket for it!!!. Mine went straight in before it had a chance to be scratched/bumped against anything.

I just received my Nexus 10, ordered from Flubit (sent out by Google).

Unfortunately, it's a refurb. When I turned it on for the first time, it still had the previous owner's google login. I have half a mind to email him to ask why he returned it, in case my Nexus 10 has any issues.

Return it anyway, you didn't pay for a refurbed unit I presume!?

    WHOA!

I'd demand a replacement or some money back with an explanation on why it's a refurb. You'll have to go through Fireworks (Flubit) to have them query Google about it.
