    In driving from town A to town D you pass through town B and then through town C. It is 10 km farther from town A to B than from town B to C and 10 km farther from B to C than from C to D. How far is it from town A to town B?

    A mathematician states that if one folds a piece of paper in half, and folds it in half again and continues to do this 43 times, the height of the stack of folded paper will be greater than the distance between the earth and the moon. Can you prove it by simple calculation?
    * Notes
    1. This a theoretical question, it would be impossible to physically fold a piece of paper in half and in half again, and so on until you 43 times.
    2. The distance between the earth and the moon is 385 000 km and the thickness of paper is 0.006cm.)

    Guideline for answer.

    Number of folds 1 2 3 4 5 ... ... 42 43 Number of pieces of paper 2
