you'd be alright at my house, its just the work stuff thats off...must check :o

Ruby, yes we're nearly there now all the hard work is done...just have to stay safe until the big day.....My car was nearly in the ditch on way to work this morning.. I had to swerve to avoid a plonker that forgot to look at the cross roads junction before he came straight out in front of me from my left. I lost control during my swerve to the right, just missed a building and then manage to get car back in control before i hit the ditch on other side as car flew across road.. ..Stupid XXXX man just kept going:mad: while i was left a shaking wreck in the middle of the road!!! boy did i get a fright....thinking about what might have happened if i wasn't paying 100% attention to road or was going any faster:eek:........so i'm thinking of not leaving the house until next Saturday when i travel to the airport

Sooo im wrecked this week, feeling very tired, and therefore I'm putting in the effort of getting to bed a little bit earlier...I'm getting some good sleep but find i'm waking very easily and then taking foreeevvvvrrree to get back to sleep...hence I've missed all my early starts in work this week...luckily OH has been able to collect the kidsfrom school bus so i can work on....

    anyway...:o

    Week 17, Run 2 - Thurdsay 11th April
I didn't run Wednesday..worked through lunch, went to football training and hurt both calf muscles during training, got home, guest in the house so didn't want to be rude and head off, so decided to rest it...

    Headed off after work on Thursday for this...the plan was 1m easy, 20mins @ HMP(8.00 - 8.10ish), 1m easy....

it went a bit like this...
    9.04,
    7.56, 7.59, pace 7.47(.66 in 5.06) Total 21 mins
    8.43, 9.19(.18)

This was too fast but didn't feel it, i slowed them down but then i wasn't running at HMP, the warm up and cool down i felt like i was barely moving....slightly confused after this, i felt that i let the plan down by not sticking to the plan....
    total 4.83m in 40.27 @ 8.22 (no rounding up this week:rolleyes:)

    Week 17, Run 3 - Friday 12th April

    plan 4m easy
Set off on this at lunch time and didn't look at the watch (much)...when i did it was showing 8.45 - 8.50 but i was feeling comfortable and felt like i was going easy...so i stuck with it instead of tryign to slow it down...i was a lovely relaxing run in which i felt like i was sauntering along at about 9.30 pace.....i turned the corner, in unde the cover of the trees and happened to look at watch and saw it drop from 8.45 lap pace to 9.23 lap ...now i was sure the watch was playing up as this was the pace that i felt like i was at all through the run..

    but the stats are

    8.58, 9.00, 8.57, 8.50, 9.15(.27)

miles 1 & 2 were into head wind on north Road and the last .27 of a mile was where i turned into the cover of the trees.....

What im hoping is that my fitness has decided to finally make an appearance at just the right time for next week and that it will result in me having the best run on my life!!;)
But i think its more to do with the Genius of a plan i have been following and this is the way its suppose to happen and that I am now ready for London

Total 4.27m in 38.13 @ 8.57 (this is the same route as Tuesday but its coming up slightly shorter, opposite side of the road for longer!!!)

    Week 17, Run 5 - Saturday 13th April

    plan 80 mins easy

I started this off feeling like I was crawling but I was determined to keep it slow....I had decided to do a loop with a few hills to give the legs a good workout and to keep the pace slow. I turned off the main road at 1.7m to go for my first uphill and discovered it was into a strong headwind...so this was the case up until 4.30 miles where I turned off that road...the wind dropped immediately so it was actually a lovely run for a bit in the sunshine, I turned again at about 5m and this mile was pretty much downhill but I resisted the temptation to plough on, even thought the lap pace changed somewhat...I think this is more a reflection of the wind that a change in my pace.... a few more ups and downs and I just had to do a minor detour to get my time up to the 80 mins so not a bad course and one i'll use again!!!

My calves are still a bit tight...waiting for apt for final rub out with Physio early next week.. Compression sleeves on every day and night except when running!!!..very fetching indeed:rolleyes:

    9.23, 9.18, 9,19, 9.17, 9.14, 9.03, 9.05, 9.09, 9.10(.81)
    Total 8.81m in 81.10 @ 9.13

    Week 17, Run 6 - Sunday 14th April
    plan 4m easy

Delighted to see the rain had stopped and the sun was shining so I decided to get this done before I got side-tracked...eventually headed out just before noon:rolleyes:, off down the main road for 2m...the first mile was registering 9.30 and even thought I made the effort to keep it slow it end up at 9.09 and then I realised the wind was moving me along:rolleyes:...I had shed the running jacket at half mile stage and I was enjoying the run in the sun...when I turned at 2 miles ..... OMG:eek::eek: the wind was straight in my face and my pace dropped suddenly from 9.00 to 9.26, I was at one stage running but not moving forward at all...this was to continue for the 2m back home and it was a great resistance workout:eek:...my pace was slow, my breathing very heavy but I was nearly bent in two trying to battle the wind...I have to say I was glad when this one was over...my final sloping incline I felt like I had done a 20m run...the body was tired:rolleyes:...I really hope there is no wind next week as it just saps your energy...I hadn't eaten or drank anything so this was a great workout in using up my calories/fat stores....i'm down another 2lbs this week...:D

    9.09, 9.02, 9.24, 9.37,

    Total 4.05 in 37.40 @ 9.18

So Saturday and Sunday runs were the first two runs without baselayers and the running jacket tied round me for most of the runs.....yeah, Spring might be here afterall.....:D

Made the big mistake today off wearing the baselayer, half way around I was thinking about jumping into the bushes to take the top off.

    Week 18 – Race Week:D

So Race week is here, isn’t time just flying by!!!

    Plan for the week was

    Mon | Tue | Wed | Thur| Fri| Sat | Sun|
    Rast/Pilates | 3m easy| 1m easy 2 @ MP, 1m easy | 3m easy | Rest | 15min Recovery | Marathon Day|

So far this week I have been getting pretty good sleep most nights and my eating is along normal path with thankfully not much rubbish being ingested

My body was sore after Pilates this week and i was feeling sore which is unusual but back to normal in a day or so......

I didn’t get out for my run on Tuesday:eek: but at this stage I’m not worried about that…I had forgotten to bring my gear to work:mad: and after work I had Girls championship football and then when I got home I was dizzy and tired. My son had been complaining about been dizzy and not feeling well the night before and on Tuesday morning so I was erring on the side of caution. I headed to bed, as I knew missing 3m was not going to impact on race day at this stage!!(i hope:rolleyes:)

    Week 18 Run 1 – Wednesday 17th April

Had the day off work so did the school and playschool drop offs and at 10am I stood looking out at the torrential rain and listening to the gale force winds and I had to rethink my wardrobe…so running vest was changed to long sleeved and a running jacket and baseball cap were added and after dallying for another 10 mins I just decided to HTFU and out the door I went……within 200m my feet were soaking as I couldn’t run wide of the puddles because of traffic and there’s only a tiny hard shoulder so I just ploughed through them…running jacket was off within half a mile and long sleeves were rolled up, as although it was wet and windy it was very mild!!!!

Paces were fine but the 2nd MP mile and cool down mile were into the wind so this kept them on target but I was working a bit harder then I would have liked…..to be honest I was blown of the road a couple of times from wind and spray of lorries passing by and I must have looked like a headcase running in that weather in the first place….but anyone would tell you us runners are mad anyway!!!

You seem to be handling the taper very well..........I'm only 4 days into mine and I'm thinking I may need a straitjacket by the end of it

Best of luck in London :D

    Week 18, Run 2 - Thursday 18th April....

easy lunchtime run with 2 other ladies from work to help keep my pace in check...kinda worked....mini progression run...mile 1(9.51) up the North road with our heads dipped from the wind and rain, into mile 2 (9.35) and sun came out and then mile 3 (9.01) onto Chesterfield ave into glorious sunshine and no rain.....lovely run!

Physio yesterday found two big knots, one in each calf but she didn't work too hard on them incase she left me worse...(can't remember her term):o, no problems with them today thankfully!!

    9.51, 9.35, 9.01

    Total 3.00 in 28.30 @ 9.29

And so thats another Marathon Training plan done and dusted. Apart from the few weeks at the end of last year, and early this year i think i missed about 4/5 runs (one this week) and i followed all the plan as had been devised for me. I'd like to thank Ecoli for the plan and his continuing support...some would say that its easy follow a plan but i have to say no point in following a plan if its no good or not right for you...so thank You Ecoli!!

    Onwards we march......
