    Hi all,

I am a graduate of French and Spanish living in Dublin (BA Hons). I dont get to use these [hard-won skills] in my day job, but would like to use them by way of helping others currently studying either/both, at Junior or Leaving Cert level and even up to 1st/2nd Year University level.

I dont have a teaching qualification [very stupidly and regretfully] but I was required [as part of Masters course t&c] to teach the Commerce & Spanish First Years in UCC during my Masters in Spanish literature.

If there is anyone out there with an interest in picking up the rudiments, improving their oral French/Spanish or struggling in college, I could lend a hand in 2012- wont be charging - Due to lack of formal teaching qualification, I am treating any such interested parties as 'internship'. just want to see if I could be of help in these tough times.

    Olive K
    :)

    Hi

I'm looking for a tutor in the Limerick area to take me from little or no spanish to honours Leaving cert level

    any ideas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14 TrastoCat

Do you want to learn or improve your Spanish? Or maybe do you need a hand with your Spanish lessons —and your homework? I'm a Translation & Interpretation student from Spain living in Dublin, used to deal with languages and with teaching experience. As a native Spanish speaker with academic knowledge of my mother language I can offer you a service suited to your needs. Just mail me and tell me what you want: your situation, your level, the hours that suits you... so we can arrange a reasonable schedule and prize, since I also know what is like to be a student. Knowledge in languages is priceless, though!

    Hey ya!

I'm struggling with a maths module I have in college. I'm in second year of Economics and Finance and we're studying matrices at the moment.

If anyone could help me out with this module I could help you with your Spanish since it's my native language and I have some experience teaching it.

    I'm based in Dublin.

    Contact me killian_s@hotmail.com

Hi, My Girlfriend is a native Spanish speaker and trained teacher in Spain, and fluent in English.
Can someone please advise the best way to get her name out there for private tutoring?

  • Registered Users Posts: 241 ✭✭Equality

Demand is driven by the language subjects taught in your local secondary school - usually French. If you are flexible in terms of location, choose to live near a secondary that offers Spanish as a subject for leaving cert.

The best approach is to put an ad in the local shops, including Tesco. Be advised that revenue officials read these ads, and may contact you to see if you are making a profit.

Your girlfriend should pay tax on the income, as a self employed individual. A small payment of tax and PRSI as a self employed language tutor will give her an entitlement to maternity benefit, which I think may be important to you as you sound like a young couple.
