Money back on all the usual markets if United win in the Bernabeau

Bet365 giving a free in play bet if you have a bet on the Utd v Madrid game up to the same stake (max €50) if you place a bet before kick off

The hungry b@stard I am I'll be in Powers at lunch, I'll post if there's free cash in the offing

Always chat to the lad behind the counter, I'm usually the only one punting their "while stocks last" specials. He often remarks "how is everyone in here not having that bet?" or "at least someone's bloody backing it" when I back them

Powers 9/2 Celtic to beat Juve, 200 max

5.2 to lay. Only a small arb but an arb nevertheless if you want it

Only pays around 1% paying 2% commission with Smarkets

    I'll leave it alone

That was very upsetting at Lingfield.

I had Bobbyjack back @ 7/4 and was waiting on it to complete first ever full house in a yankee. listened to radio commentary and started to calculate winnings in my head as the commentary stated he as come away very well inside the final furlong in the bumper. then those horrible words "oh no something has going wrong with the horse"

when my blood pressure drops back down, I'll be able to feel sorry for the poor old horse.

I had him backed aswell and I was just after saying impressive win to myself as it was a nice turn of foot and then he broke down. Awful for connections.

I'm always anxious until they jump the last fence....but in a bumper 99.99999% of the time you're home and dry. It was backed into odds on too. didn't see the pictures, does it look like his last race? poor thing if so.

He broke down badly, he'll have to put down I'd imagine. :(

Did anyone take some of the evens Madrid to progress max 500 Bruce offered

I did, took 500 on the phone and arbed it at 6/4 with 888.com i'd just opened. So a few €100 and a free €110 in bets to boot. Thanks by the way, I owe ya a pint

    [QUOTE=Colonel Sanders;83165284

They laid Madrid last year at Evs v Munich to qualify when they were 1.6 something to lay[/QUOTE]

I actually went to 3 different shops last year to take the 200 max on that, all the while walking along trying to deposit into betfair through moneybookers on a smartphone. Very difficult

I had to go to Epsom with work that day

Got off the plane to see a text saying powers were evens. Pity, 2 shops within spitting distance of each other very close to my house so I'd have got 2x200 on rather than the usual 200 when I'm in work

    Why I fired my secretary:

Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up on that morning. I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say, "Happy Birthday!", and possibly have a small present for me. As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone "Happy Birthday." I thought... Well, that's marriage for you, but the kids... They will remember. My kids came bounding down stairs to breakfast and didn't say a word. So when I left for the office, I felt pretty low and somewhat despondent.

As I walked into my office, my secretary Jane said,
"Good Morning Boss, and by the way Happy Birthday!"
It felt a little better that at least someone had remembered. I worked until one o'clock, when Jane knocked on my door and said, "You know, It's such a beautiful day outside, and it is your Birthday, what do you say we go out to lunch, just you and me."
I said, "Thanks, Jane, that's the greatest thing I've heard all day. Let's go!"
We went to lunch. But we didn't go where we normally would go. She choose instead a quiet bistro with a private table.
We had two Martinis each and I enjoyed the meal tremendously. On the way back to the office, Jane said, "You know, It's such a beautiful day... We don't need to go straight back to the office, do we?" I responded, "I guess not. What do you have in mind?" She said, "Let's drop by my apartment, it's just around the corner."
After arriving at her apartment, Jane turned to me and said,
"Boss, if you don't mind, I'm going to step into the bedroom for just a moment. I'll be right back."

"Okay," I nervously replied. She went into the bedroom and, after a couple of minutes, she came out carrying a huge birthday cake.

Followed by my wife, my kids, and dozens of my friends and co-workers, all singing "Happy birthday".
    And I just sat there...
    On the couch...
    Sobbing...
    Naked...
    and erect.

4/1 Madrid/Shaktar double in powers looks big

Betfair lay prices & bookies best prices imply just over 7/2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Money back in PP if the scum win.
Was hoping they'd go evens though.

That double could be interestin though.

Big punt on Madrid while Shaktar are drifting a bit

Always wary of draws in the last 16, they occur quite often.

Just by the by, Liverpool at 2/5 on Monday was probably the greatest lay since..........well Liverpool at home to Arsenal at 4/5 earlier in the year. Oh, I forgot about the 1/2 at home to Newcastle. They are so consistently overpriced its ridiculous. And hilarious
