To the family and friends of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing and the manner it has come in.

My thoughts and sympathy is extended to them, Adrian Donohoe's wife and two children especially at this very sad time.

I thank Adrian Donohoe for his service to our country, in his daily duties in trying to see that Ireland become a crime free nation as much as possible,
I’m deeply sorry to hear of his sudden death.

May He Rest In Peace.

Adrian spent his life giving his best to his job as a Garda. He had absolutely no enemies. I knew him through sport.
He was a great family man and always rushed home from work when he could to be in time for their bedtime, to kiss his lovely kids goodnight. He was a great community man, training young kids in the art of Gaelic football and generally teaching them to be fair and to respect each other. He went to bed early and got up early. He worked hard. He drank only an odd time and in moderation and he had a good sense of humour. A good lad.
He didn't lie in bed all day, scrounge and steal. He had a good work ethic, always fair.

Adrian was everything the people who murdered him were not.

To Adrians family friends and colleagues you had a marvelous Husband, Father, Son, brother, and a friend, he was a big gentle giant both on the green fields of our many GAA grounds he played on and serving as a member of An Garda Siochàna, he was actually to nice.
Hope the cruel bastards who caused his untimely death are brought to justice quick.

That a public servant - and by all accounts a very good public servant - should have their life ended in this manner is truly appalling.
My sincere condolences to his wife and two little children.
I hope justice is done to both his memory and his killers!
