Why does it matter even if they are the same company? The important thing is we will not have the same logo on the front, further distancing ourselves from them. It's like shaking a bit of muck off yer shoe :D

Probably the best move the board have made in several years.

If your right I can say I totally agree the less we have to do with you lot the better ;)

If only your boardroom shared the same attitude.

Even from an objective POV you cannot deny you bring more negative publicity than we do, be it fair or not.

Aye Ok if you think I am going to start rehashing stuff from years ago forget it. As for our board what do you know that the rest of us don't

    £2m so :P
Lawwell says the Magners deal was signed before the AGM where fans called for end to Rangers joint sponsorship agreements.
This sounds a bit petty to me. Like he's just trying to say the fans didn't get their way and it was his idea all along. If the deal was signed why was it not mentioned at the AGM? If due to contract reasons then why was the club's response to basically refuse the request?

Again, very well handled. Compare and contrast to Green constantly bleating on about us and it shows you who needs who here.

Magners..... much better sponsor than poxy Carling or poxy Tennents.

The current black away shirt with a Magners logo would look class.

Not sure Celtic should be advertising Magners to a city that thinks it counts as one of their 5 a day

LOL this is the same club that for years at every AGM has something to say or to make a petty dig at Rangers really open your eyes

Buying a new jersey, every time, the sponsor changes, is exactly what those companies want, imo.

I still wear a 12 year old Borussia Dortmund jersey, and the Celtic one with 'Carling' on it, bought way back in 2006. It's the club, that matters, not a sponsor ;)

It's win-win for C&C as the "multi millions" they've paid Celtic will be reinvested with his bar tab.

Commercial cider production was started in Clonmel, South Tipperary in 1935, by local man William Magner.[1] Magner bought the orchard from a Mr Phelan from Clonmel. Magner quickly established a successful cider factory in Dowds Lane, Clonmel. In 1937 English cider-makers H. P. Bulmer purchased a 50% share in the business, using their expertise to greatly increase production. After the war in 1946, Bulmers purchased the remaining 50%, changing the name to Bulmers Ltd Clonmel.[2] H.P. Bulmer maintained international rights to the Bulmers trade mark, so that any exports were carried out via the parent company rather than directly exported from Ireland. Of course, as any Celtic supporter will tell you, this makes Magners cider a brand new drink, as no-one has ever tasted it before. The fact that it only has a new owner/holding company, is neither here nor there for them.

How come it's Bulmers in Ireland but Magners everywhere else?

There's already a Bulmers cider in England, different company although I think they might be 'related' in the past. I'm sure it's on Wikipedia.

I wonder will they do a Bulmers top for sale over here...

Lads we've been done by The Dignity Franchise once again :(

Interesting that Bulmers, i.e. the one owned by C&C, dont consider Bulmers & Magners the same thing!

    http://bulmers.ie/history.html
In 2000, Bulmers Ltd launched the export cider brand, Magners. Magners is similar to Bulmers in terms of product taste and characteristics.
