celtic better not sell kayal to norwich!
Why not? I like him but the rumoured £5m is a pretty good deal for us.

I tend to agree, £5m is a decent price. He hasnt turned out to be the player we thought he might.

If we sell Wanyama, which is likely in the summer, then Kayal could step in and be a bigger player for Celtic. He's worth more than 5 million, depending on what's left in his contract. I'd reject that sort of bid from the likes of Norwich out of hand. They'll have to bid a lot more than that to even be considered. Most of this speculation is bs anyway, all our players are EPL targets according to the EPL rumour mill because of the CL run, even to the rags and also-ran EPL clubs.

he's worth alot more than £5m its not like we need to sell a good player for the 1st offer given. certainly better in midfield than brown and wanyama when the opposition are pressing well. not being in the form of his life isnt a good reason to sell.

The Gershon guy seems to be on the way to Celtic with his agent mad to do a deal, hopefully a loan with a fee agreed. Not exactly filled with confidence if he cannot get back into the Liege team after a serious injury. Professional players playing for a new contract does wonders for their motivation though!

Kayal's had a few good performances recently. He'll become an important player when Wanyama leaves, and hopefully it'll help him fulfill the potential he has. Maybe even follow Wanyama to a top club one day, but it'd take silly money for me to sell him right now.

Still watching this 4 DVD History of Celtic. I'm of sick from work at the moment so smashing through the last 2 DVD's today.

Unbelievable that in 125 years of history only 4 managers at the club have never played for Celtic.

    Wim Jansen
    Jozef Vengloš
    John Barnes
    Martin O'Neill

How in the name of Jaysus was John Barnes given the reigns at Celtic:pac:

From my memory(not the most reliable) I'm sure Dalglish's role was played up when it was announced, it was a few weeks before we found out Kenny's main role was to wear a Celtic top while playing golf in Spain.

There must have been a few lads who picked the team before Willie Maley became manager in 1897 who didn't actually play for the Celts. There could be any number of them in fact, I think the teams back then were chosen by a committee;).

Joe Jordan was another one. In October '93 after Brady resigned, Jordan took over briefly as caretaker manager. He didn't actually manage the team in a game, but took a few training sessions as caretaker boss and then decided not to continue out of loyalty to Liam Brady - that, and he got news that the board were looking to appoint Lou Macari. Joe never played for Celtic either. Technically that makes the list 7 plus the committee men prior to 1897;)

Dermot Desmond got in touch with Alex Ferguson and asked him if he could get in touch with Martin O Neil about the Celtic job.

Guus Hiddenk was rejected by Celtic before O Neil took charge. Greatest ****ING DVD EVER

How does that technically make him manager. He never took charge of a competitive game

When Mourinho got sacked I put £40 on Hiddink to be next Chelsea manager. They appointed him "until the end of the season" meaning I didn't win my bet according to Betfair :mad:

Bit of a tangent but I assume caretaker managers don't count as official manager.

I doubt you were the only one losing a bet there. I would have challenged it because its a **** of a technicality to catch your customers on. Please tell me you kicked up the biggest fuss possible or they've lost your business because of it.

Legend is a term bandied about too much these days. That guy, however, is a legend, the best ever Celtic player I'll have the privilege to watch in my lifetime I reckon.

Still can't believe that such a talent spent 7 years with Celtic.
