Paul, you have always been one of the most fair minded posters towards me here. No question. However, for you to question why I am looking for apology is silly. For months there were accusations of financial doping, cheating, tax evasion, big tax case, wait till the result of the big tax case comes out etc etc. I expressed a different view and was hounded on here for it. I was hounded for not buying into this view. I have since been proven to be 100% correct in my assertions and I believe I am perfectly entitled to bring this up now. So people were WRONG to accuse me of 'not getting it' when clearly I understood things perfectly well. I have come on here and praised Celtic to the hilt, but this is not about either club. A simple sincere apology from one or two posters and that would have been it. Done and dusted. I have always felt I have had to defend myself on this thread to the point of hostility, if perhaps people eased off on this and accepted me for who I am, I would be delighted to come in here and discuss things in a positive way rather than constant bickering. It would certainly be my wish.
if you go to the rangers thread or the administration thread i promise to at least read your posts

Rangers have already been found guilty of these. Why do you keep ignoring this?

Brewster you can sing if you think you're getting any kind of apology, you trolled this thread for long enough, haven't been seen in months then pop back in when the oldco win an appeal. This is a fkn Celtic thread and you are a nuisance

This is the exact hostility I speak of. It does NOBODY any good. Can you not see this? For your information my last post here was only a few weeks ago when I congratulated Celtic on their historic victory over Barce.

Hostility? You do NOBODY any good when you continue to come in here talking about stuff that belongs in other threads. Go over there with it and see how it goes

Edit: have a read of this too Brewster http://oldpesky.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/old-rangers-last-hurrah.html

How come a mod hasn't moved the posts (including mine)? Seems strange given this is probably the most strictly moderated forum I've seen on the web (the charter is hilarious).

Govan Emerald CSC have issued a statement regarding the shenanigans in the last week
Statement on behalf of the Govan Emerald CSC

On Thursday, November 22nd, a member of our supporters’ club and his legal representative attended a meeting with representatives of Celtic Football Club at Celtic Park. The meeting was arranged following the release of a statement on November 18th by the Govan Emerald CSC, and the subsequent publication of a response by Celtic FC on its official website.

Our member had a legitimate grievance concerning undue attention he had received from police officers prior to a recent European away game. At the meeting on November 22nd, corroborating evidence regarding this grievance was presented to the representatives of Celtic FC.

Celtic had previously indicated that it would devote its full attention to any matter raised by the support. We wish to acknowledge that the incident which gave rise to the meeting of November 22nd was dealt with by the Club in a wholly transparent, honest and willing manner. We believe that Celtic FC is to be commended for this approach as it continues to foster a positive relationship with its supporters. Following the meeting with the Club, the Govan Emerald CSC wish to confirm that we are fully satisfied with the explanation provided, and that we now consider the matter to be resolved.

The Govan Emerald CSC also wish to acknowledge the support we have received from the Green Brigade and other members of the Celtic family. In doing so, we wish to reciprocate their gesture by reaffirming our full support for the Green Brigade. Having witnessed at first hand the willingness of Celtic FC to engage with us and to respond to our concerns, we trust that other supporters’ organisations can resolve any issues they may have with the Club in a similar fashion.

In our statement of November 18th, we named an individual employee of Celtic FC. This was an error of judgement on our part and we apologise sincerely for any distress that may have been caused to the employee in question or to his family.

The Govan Emerald CSC have been committed to supporting charitable causes for many years, in keeping with the collectively-held values and beliefs of the Celtic Charity Fund. In its 125th anniversary year, we will be intensifying our efforts to support Celtic FC in improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable people in society. We hope to publicise these efforts in the months ahead.

Fair play to them, credit where it is due. I thought naming the individual was a big mistake, so for them to quickly and publicly put it right is decent. Delighted the club moved to sort it out quickly also.

Does this mean that the GB boycotts are off now, or is that more of a general protest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,746 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

I think the boycott is still happening as it related to a bigger harassment issue

there is some amount of muppets on Neil Lennons twitter feed talking about it. Being realistic about the buck hardly stops with him

Why would the boycott be off just because someone in the Govan CSC was threatened with legal action?

A simple 'yes' or 'no' is what I was looking for, but thanks for the helpful reply.

I wasn't answering your question, I was asking one. This yoke here usually means someone is asking a question ---> ? But thanks for the helpful reply

Anyway back to the football, we've been dire again but god above Callum Murray has to be the worst referee in Scotland.

Now now lads, no infighting just because the results aren't as they're supposed to be ;)

Top of the premier league in Scotland my boy :)

If it wasn't for European results there would be serious questions marks over this start to the season.

Couldn't believe he took off Watt leaving Hooper on.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,940 ✭✭✭BhoscaCapall

Sensational indeed! He hasn't threatened to quit at all, he just said if the fans wanted him to leave he would. It takes a spectacular level of media shít-stirring to turn that into a bad thing, given a manager would get pelters if they said it wasn't up to the fans and they're staying put regardless of what they think.

It's obvious the focus is on Europe, the league is rightfully second fiddle they'll win it at a canter after Xmas.

that man looks suspiciously like ally mccoist from behind.. not that he would engage in anything like that

Nothing to see here, move along!! :)

Lenny just being Lenny, he takes the criticism to heart. Probably best if he didn't engage with abusive fans, but I don't think he's going to change at this stage.

I've always said it though, I'd take Lenny and his outbursts 100 times over Tony Mowbray!! :D

We always go through a bad spell, this is the bad spell. Normal service will resume v Hearts when we pump them on Wednesday. I hope!!! :pac:

Top of the league and in with a shout of last 16 CL, guaranteed EL at worst..... and people want Lenny gone? Hard to understand the thinking of some people.

Non-story and load of crap, top of the league with a game in hand, they could lose another few and easily win this league after Christmas. Let's be honest its a shocking league especially without Rangers and Celtic havn't moved out of first gear in it yet because of the CL. One moron fan, its like the idiots you hear on TodayFm or other radio shows saying Fergie should be sacked everytime United lose a game.

Surprised the fan didn't attack Lennon. Not like that's against the law in Scotland apparently.

If it was that bad then how come Celtic aren't already walking it with their half arsed attempts?

Seems the league will get the same criticisms regardless of what actually goes on.

Lenny is a bit of Cry Baby , I remember when as a Player he was getting stick for playing the ball back , His dad was at the game and he came out and said his dad would not be returning due to the booing
Yes he does take things to heart -

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,666 ✭✭✭blahfckingblah

you say that like booing your own team is an acceptable thing to do..
on another note i asked the green brigade if they presented evidence of their harassment to the club before boycotting haven't gotten a reply yet, speaks volumes to me if they don't reply.

    .

    Really?
I think you might want to look into that a little further.
