Since updating to jellybean YouTube links from the browser or say Twitter or FB no longer open in the YouTube app.
I get no option to pick between the app or the browser as before and I dont see how fix this, anyone know how?

It's not just YouTube, instagram links used to try open in instagram too but no longer.

YouTube in the browser itself doesn't seem to be working. Displays 0.00/0.01 for the video time.
The one instance it did play and the full screen didn't work properly, the notification bar remained and the screen rotation remained on.

Jellybean has been incredibly frustrating, things seem laggier, keyboard less responsive much preferred my phone last week...

Have you reset your device? After some updates (Regardless of version) the phones needs a complete reset to get it fully sorted.

I had/have the same issue. Though I gave up at this point and I did a fresh install of Jelly Bean once it came out.

Quite frustrating. It looks like Sammy would have removed that from TouchWiz as it still works great on AOSP

Have never reset mine and it had been a bit laggy at times.

Got an update this morning though and everything seems lightening quick since.

Anybody know why this is 599 on Meteor and o2 and 487 on pixmania?. Is there a catch?

Do a search for reviews of Pixmania on here before you order. Price is nice though.

Anyone finding the battery life to be poor?
My brother says hes barely getting a day out of a full recharge with average usage, power saving options turned on etc.
Also what is cell standy? it says cell standby battery used by radio is 41% but radio is turned off?

just an FYI on LEK4 batterylife. i took it off charge late last night. maybe 10pm, had a call, between sleep and work wasnt using it, so its mainly standby time. i included both screens as in 16% drain over 20hrs with 30% being a call (so around 8% usage on standby in 20hrs)
im guesstimating over a week of low usage.

I didnt reply until now as i had been using it for generally 2hrs gps +other heavy usage each day before now, so was getting it down to 20-40% or so (gps eats battery)
once this is released in december id guess a lot of people will be happy

yeah. im dualbooting it and cyanogenmod. am kinda sticking with this one now due to batterylife but im guessing some of the new 4.1.2 roms will be awesome for battery now since this release.
its just standby time is better.
im down to 63% now 26hrs in, so thats 20% in 6hrs, but ofc using it since coming home like.

i used the deodexed thingy, and am dualbooting, so this is the zip version. if you wanna use odin or whatever then you will need the tar afaik.

@kenyard - are you seeing the GPS problem that users are reporting on XDA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 944 ✭✭✭kenyard

Nah man im not. But it does eat battery I think maybe more than it did. I have it completely disabled when not using it so weather etc doesnt update also...I installed it over the most recent 4.1.1 android. It gets sluggish at times too..think some app has an issue and hogs the proceasor or sth.i hafnt had any issues for a while now though
I wud recommend dual boot incase there are issues..
42% there now. So easily lasting 2 days around work and cud peobably last 3.

EDIT: also i had installed the 4.2 google apps to have that 360 camera etc.. its not working in this update for some reason.. i dunno was it before this either was i was using CM10. It takes the panorama photos, renders them, but wont display them for some reason.
the new gallery is class though. see my links to pics on this post (i use the bottom linked display there)

    Hi guys

Could anyone give me a tutorial on how I can go back to stock firmware on an internationally unlocked s3. Thanks guys :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 944 ✭✭✭kenyard

    check youtube or xda forums.
considering you managed to put non stock firmware on it im guessing you can put on a stock rom when you find it (theyre on xda in general section)

thats a quick link i found which shows triangle away and unroot

Installed the latest leaked test build - I9300XXELK4 (4.1.2). The difference in battery life is damn impressive. :D
GPS is working fine. No problems at all to report yet.

The new gallery app is very nice.

Hopefully the official build isn't too far away.

camera isnt working unless you install the firmware fix though as i found out when going out there friday night though ;)
switched rom, so wasnt an issue.. just one for you to watch out.
the firmware will be rolled out when its rolled out officially anyways, mite be worth cehcking out anyways.
    but yeah its seriously promising

Where can you get the camera fix kenyard?

What is not working with the camera?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,016 ✭✭✭ct5amr2ig1nfhp

Camera working fine here! Didn't install any firmware fix either...

Edit: here's the link to the leaked ROM I installed - link

The new "Continuous Input" in Samsung Keyboard (ala Swype) is terrible. It needs some serious work.

hmm my camera isnt wrking at all. theres a discussion on the fix on xda n all.
but i also didnt use a kies version either, so maybe the one you installed has fixes already i dunno...
either way its no biggie to me at the minute, just a minor inconvenience and ill fix it later or when i get time

Just to follow up re battery life.
Same usage on previous "official" ROM would only last about 30h at a push.

On this leak I'm at 35hrs and 31% left. :D

    Loving the multiview/page feature.
