Im so sick of the series since mw2,nothing has come close to cod 4 imo.
I didnt buy mw3,planned not to get this but one of my favourite and trustworthy gaming streamers is loving it.

Quick question - I just bought the PC game in Gamestop and was wondering is there a way I can play the game without using the (noisy) disk each time?
Maybe download and input my CD Key with Steam?

It runs on steam, so I'd imagine pull be able to activate you key on steam and download it.

No server browser - inexcusable for a PC FPS

the main reason for me not buying any COD game.
MW2 was such good fun in multiplayer.
What happens with companys renting out servers ? must be a right pain

They're not renting out servers this year. Just hosting the games on their own dedicated servers instead.

Apparently PC patch is incoming for FOV slider among other things so who knows.

FFS, are they labelled ME2 or what?
I might buy it later in gamestop, need to check discs first so.

They're labelled Blops 2 but hashchecked as ME. Of course the only way around that currently is enter your CD Key and download the game instead, which defeats the purpose of buying it in retail.

Aye, I've been mulling it over... seems it's a lot better than MW3 (god I hated that crap), and I enjoyed Blops 1 a good bit. Will probably buy at the end of the week.

I think the best way to go about this is via the blackopsie group, and then invite a few people via STEAM into the group ingame and then go from there and look for a lobby.

Not seen anyone on the boards.ie TeamSpeak , which would be handy

    .

Still cheaper from Retail in most cases, personally would not be upset but for those will slower connection or allowances this sucks.

EA and Activision are never on the best of terms, but piracy is wrong Activision/Treyarch so say your sorry.

We had a few games today, people should pop onto the boards.ie TS later and we try get a few games goin between us
Oh, and you need to add and accept friends on STEAM via the "Black Ops Ireland" group to get in on the games, as you can only invite friends directly and not via STEAM groups as far as I'm aware

I went from die-hard call of duty fan to being extremely apathetic about the series. It appears I am not in Activision/IW/Treyarchs target demographic for this game - especially given the way in which the xbox versions of the games are top priority (with other formats being a bit of an afterthought)

I want this to be good - I really do, but have already read from reliable PC gamers I trust that the game is not at the level of quality it needs to be on many levels - Every year the CoD scene goes through this messy relationship with the CoD sequel whereby most try to convince themselves the game is good and will be the next big thing, but over time come to the realization that it simply isn't - at this stage most PC cod fans have been burned enough to know when to stop getting burnt.

Im with ya man , I one of those of the opinion that COD4 has never been beaten within the series and that the series has gone downhill since.
I hated MW2 with a passion, didnt get MW3,wasnt mad about blops 1 but after watching streams of the PC version and playing the xbox 360 version with my son it seemed enough fun to make a purchase for my beloved PC.
For many years i wouldnt touch an fps that wasnt either A. realistic or B. worthy of competitive play.
These days i just game for the laugh and nothing more :)

Either way im installing BLOPS II on my PC as i type :)

How does this compare to CoD 4? That was the last one I enjoyed (aside from Zombies in WaW).

Its the closest to COD4 yet tbh.
Its early days but i got to play for about 2 hours lastnight and its easily the best COD since COD4 so far.
Im pretty happy with the game having lost all hope of the series with the other garbage efforts.
The only thing i miss is clan servers, granted the Treyarch dedi servers are rocking so far but theres nothing like playing on a regular few servers and getting to know and play with the same people.
Before any console users say it,i dont mean a tiny few in a party i mean that community feel you get from playing on regular servers with regular players.
When i ran servers in the past for COD,BF games etc we could maybe have 150 regulars per server and most of them would register on our forums and the whole community would swing into motion.
Its something PC gamers are used to,the ability to rent servers for clans and communities would benefit the game hugely because so far the PC version of the game seems to be going down well.
