Well there will be a point this season where he won't have to, because we won't still be in Europe - and that is when we will kick on and win the league.
    we have good squad dept
We do on paper. In reality we seem to have one of the most injury prone squads I have ever seen.

Who did we have available today that wasn't knackered from Barca?
    McCourt, Kayal, Ibrahim, McGeouch, Watt

Watt started today, and of the others there only Dylan, Kayal and maybe McCourt are realistically going to play.

I would have started with Samaras - Kayal - Brown - McGeouch and had Commons and Watt up front, but isn't that basically what we finished the game with anyway?

I Guess Lenny's no.1 priority is CL so not taking the SPL serious is okay because once we go out he knows we will gain ground and should win the league

watt didnt start today, he replaced miku at ht

waiting until the ucl is over isnt a foolproof plan, especially if we get to the last 16 and we are juat accepting bad results in and around ucl matches. i expect better, alot better than just 2 points behind with a game in hand given the standards we are trying to set with the resources we have.

what happens if we drop into the europa league and more games to play? we need to be able to handle playing matches after european games.

I'd imagine that it was a case of playing the tired players today to keep them sharp for the Benfica game in 9 days time. I think Lennon decided that the full two weeks was too long of a break to give the players. I expect the rest of the squad to get a run out the next day out, and we won't see Ledley etc. until Lisbon. He may be dropping points now, but once we keep in touch at the top of the SPL, European progression is the priority at this stage of the season.

That's great but my point still stands.

We've played pretty crap in the league all season yet we're 2nd, if not top. Considering we've come back from actual troubling deficits plenty of times in the past I don't really see any cause for concern.

There's a 2.5 month gap between the Group Stage and L16 of the CL - this is when we have to get the ball rolling in the league.

Agree with this. Not overly concerned right now, but the team need to pull up their socks now. Some poor home results in the league of late. There's no point aiming to be a European side if you keep pulling the "tired" excuse out of the bag.

I wonder how we'd all feel if Rangers were in the league and we'd dropped a few points behind them at this stage? There'd be ructions on here if that were the case. Dropping points at home to Killie and St. Johnstone is not acceptable. We can't/shouldn't take our foot off the SPL in spite of doing well in our CL group.

Time for Lenny to get the team going domestically.

But.... that is literally one of the main reasons we can do this.

It's like saying I wonder how we'd all feel if we were 8th in the SPL. We're not, we're 2nd (potentially top).

Rangers not being in the league is basically the reason we can afford to take our foot off the gas.

dont be expecting trebles or a period of dominating scottish football if the players are as unprofessional as you think they can be tbh.

Glad to hear Kelvin Wilson say that the performances after ucl games are not good enough

we are still playing 90 minutes, its best to be winning these and not give your opponents hope & confidence that you can be caught out.

I have seen nothing to suggest we won't do both. We're still in all the cups and we're essentially top of the league. Anybody who thinks this level of performance will be there until May needs to learn football.

See if the bookie's odds on us winning change in the slightest when we go 2nd with a game in hand in November.

success in all domestic competitions + europe after christmas means dealing with fixture congestion, fatigue, injuries, suspensions, and winning games when we arent 100%. we have seen nothing to suggest we are capable of doing that yet.

So we're doing well in Europe, progressing in all the cups, and basically top of the SPL.

But you've seen nothing to suggest we're capable of it.

I don't think anyone is suggesting a crisis, but dropping 7 points in our last 3 league games indicates a problem that needs addressing.

Rangers not being in the league means we'll get away with more poor performances no doubt, and still win the league, but it should not be an excuse for poor performances.

I don't think I have to explain the concept of a game in hand to you. Obviously it's not guaranteed but a game we will be favourites for.

I mean even if we were 2nd by two points on level games, in the scheme of things it wouldn't be much to worry about (we've been much further behind better teams before and still won). The fact we have a game in hand further cheapens any cause for concern.

haha your very presumptuous, i understand were firm favourites to win the league but take nothing for granted.. remember itv's tweet: A1j_1eZCcAE2u6E.jpg

I don't think it's "presumptuous" to say Celtic will win the SPL....

There is no question that the Champions League campaign is taking it's toll on our spl form as we simply have not figured out how to play well on both fronts at the same time as of yet. But to be fair as well give credit to the other spl teams as they have taken advantage of our poor spl form after Champions League games. If we are going to win the spl then we are going to have to earn it.

See the PLC pricks are trying to profit off of the GB's display, selling framed photos of it for £40

Don't see the issue, the GB are fans of the club and any money made by the club will be re-invested into the club.

Your right also it will probably have been club photographers but Celtic will own the copyright to the pics anyway

The issue is in how the GB get treated by the club/stewards. The club generally doesn't want much to do with them until they can make a quick buck off their hard work.

In what way do they get treated? Are you suggesting they get badly treated by the club and/or stewards? I've heard Peter Lawwell giving them praise on a few occasions. When they have been criticised by the club, it's generally for people acting the dick, and I have no problem with the club dealing with that whatsoever.

As for having a dig at Celtic trying to make money from a photo.... why shouldn't they???

Celtic Park is private property - wether the GB like it or not, Celtic have every right to use the image.

The club did provide the team, stadium, fixture and organisation of the game. I think they're entitled to sell a few snaps

As for the treatment of the gb, well they were given their own section so it's hardly as if the club view them with complete disdain

and check the back of tickets and t&c's to use of season cards, celtic and every other club with their heads screwed on, make a point of this. strictly speaking, photography isnt allowed at games but i think that is reserved for anyone arriving on with a nikon d600 and a long lense!

Yeah there'll be some sort of disclaimer regarding filming&photography either expressed or implied in the T&C's
