NO longer guaranteeng prices in their Ballsbridge or Stepaside shops .

Wonder is this the start of a change coming from all bookies or just a Ladbrokes decision?

I saw a thread on Betfair a while back saying the same about a few shops in Kildare

The logic seemed that there was little or no competition within walking distance

Hope it doesn't become an industry thing.

If it does then Ladbrokes might as well close shop in Ireland.

Ladbrokes have taken over Bruce shop in Kilkenny.

I was once connected with a Ladbrokes employee. From what I hear they never offer anything unless close by shops offer it. That included tea/coffee! If Powers down the road did it-Ladbrokes followed etc.

    How much are Boyles?
I can never see the screen long enough to read it, their carousels are too quick!

    Incorrect, it's €1,000

    Boyles are €500.

Powers had cut it to 100 win or 50 each way in any of the shops I'd visit. There was also a thread on Betfair stating this & I saw signage saying the same with my own 2 eyes

Last time I was in (last week) this had been increased to 500 win or 250 each way.

Looks like they are going down the Ladbrokes road where's there's no competition but at least all PP has done is reduced the stakes instead of getting rid totally.

I was talking to a ladrokes employee and she told me that all the bookies are getting rid of bog totally after Xmas.I can't see that happening but there seems to a phasing out going on alright

From what I have heard, it will be Ladbrokes only.
There is no chance Boyles & PP will stop doing it.
They may however reduce the stake amount guaranteed.
