Hey, am I the only one having problems when it comes to paying on my.tcd.ie . I've been trying to pay, online payment, for the last few days (to have it done in time for registration) but when I click on ''proceed to pay'' I'm just redirected back to the My Finances tab. Wtf is going on? Anyone have similar problems?

Yeah the exact same thing happened with me. Not too sure on how to get around it though, sent them an email there.

Have any first years recieved emails to say that they can register yet via My.Tcd?
I think they said they would start emailing student about registration after the 10th, I don't know if it different for first years or not

They're only going to start inviting students to register on Sept 10th (they're doing it in batches, so I don't know if everyone gets a mail then, or whether you'll only get notified when it's your group's turn to register). So don't worry about registration until next week anyway...

Only saw your post after posting mine.

    The email says:
Registration for all students (both new entrants and continuing students) will be carried out online via my.tcd.ie.
    · All undergraduate students will be invited on a phased basis, by course group, to register on-line. You will receive an invitation to register via my.tcd.ie from September 10 onwards
    .

The parts I put in bold suggest that first years will be the same as the rest of us :)

    I havent paid a penny yet (i'm 3rd year).
Do we have to pay this commencement sh*e this year?

Yes ... has to be paid this year.

I was finally able to pay by online payment on my.tcd.ie today, but I'd intended to pay in two installments and the option never really came up.

Instead I was able to amend what I would pay, so I entered €1210.00 (as the first installment), and I payed it. All good. I was wondering however, because I was never given the option to pay in installments (i.e. I never stated that I wanted to, because I was never given the option), what the story is? Will I be able to register with no problems?

I did that too, and on the payment form it says "0 due to be payed by 1/9/2012" and then the rest by January so it's recognising that I've 0 to pay, so it should be fine.

Where did you see that? That might just be your group. They did say it'll be done in batches this year.

Sorry if I'm being stupid, but where has this Sept 10th date suddenly come from? I got the impression registration was Sept 5th for new incoming undergrads, Aug 28th for new incoming postgrads, and later for continuing students (the 10th maybe?). https://www.tcd.ie/orientation/registration/ is just one place, but I've seen several others, where it was meant to be the 5th. Obviously that date's been and gone, and so clearly it is no longer the 5th (unless some new undergrads have already begun registering due to the batches thing?), but where have you got the 10th from?

I guess I'm just confused as to why, if the date's changed, haven't the college publicised it at all and let everybody know? I've said it already on another thread, but the lack of communication from the college concerning this new portal is astounding.

Don't worry, the idea of September 10th is new to me too. I've been lead to believe that registration started for incoming undergrads on September 5th too.

All undergrads (except maybe 1st years who don't have TCD email accounts yet) got an email a couple of weeks ago saying
"Registration for all students (both new entrants and continuing students) will be carried out online via my.tcd.ie. All undergraduate students will be invited on a phased basis, by course group, to register on-line. You will receive an invitation to register via my.tcd.ie from September 10 onwards"

I was just wondering if anyone had got that invitation today, no-one I know has got one yet anyway.

I was planning on paying registration in two installments as was indicated as an option, but now it wont let me register without paying off the balance left.

Does anyone know how to change details on mytcd.ie? The current email they have for me doesn't work and I want to change it.

You want a different email address? No you can't choose your own ones. They're all silly but you get over it.

What exactly do you have to do during registration if you're not a 1st year? (aside from have your fees paid :))

They just fixed it for me. I emailed them and asked them to change it and they did.
