Im not actually. The whole college drinking scene is a disgrace in general. Dont even get me started on RAG week, How can people do that amount of damage to their body and their behaviour is disgraceful. How someone can ever justify drinking two naggins on a thursday is beyond me.
You would be the perfect volunteer for the 70cl challenge

No. I have no problem with a few casual drinks but binge drinking is just sad
I understand where you think you're coming from but at the same time you're being quite patronising without realising it. Eh, what can I say, don't knock it 'til you try it.

and for the record, I don't really get that drunk, but I'm not going to sit there looking all disapproving and mad at everyone. That's a surefire away to annoy people. Do you do this to people in real life? If you were eating something unhealthy would you really want me to start shouting down your neck how unhealthy you are and whinge about the damage people do to their bodies? Live and let live...

Think i've been taken off the UL mailing list. Not getting any e-mails from the college or the arena etc. Could someone check theirs?

The last email I got from the college was the Library access one on the 31/7 so you might not be missing anything

Anyone else get the fees letter this morning? To be paid by Friday! Would it have killed them to send it out earlier? 5 days is not enough notice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,979 ✭✭✭Tea_Bag

seriously, paid by Friday? that's just not going to happen for me. I'll have to give them a call and see what I can do.

on a related note, when do we get the results from the repeats?

I think they are out next Monday 9am. Didn't have any myself but had an i-grade last year and didn't get the results until the first day of the new term.

I'm in the same boat as you. Emailed Paddy Rockett and he said the best thing to do is ring them and explain the situation.

If you had a repeat, paying fees is deferred for all ye until the 14th of September. Said it on the back of the pink letter.

Okay so I'm starting a post graduate course in UL
However due to a glitch in my previous college's system I haven't cleared the requirements in order to receive an Orientation pack. It will only be rectified when the EBM meets and as a result after the college year begins. The Postgraduate School has assured me that I can go along to the Orientation day but I cannot enroll.
What was in the orientation packs? Secondly is there much point in going to the course meetings? Am I missing much because of this, like will I be given a timetable, ID card or assigned to laboratory and tutorial group?

It's best to go along I reckon. You probably won't get an id card if you haven't enrolled but you'll probably get loads of info and get to know people.

The Co-op report is the biggest load of garbage done in the 4 years of a course! POINTLESS!

9am lectures Monday-Friday, attendance wont be the best!

I have never wanted to go back so much. Just want to get back into some sort of a routine, even I'll likely only have 4-5 hours a week until May.

Thursday or Friday seems so far away... :(

Full day of orientation guide on 4 hours sleep ahead. Not good man.

Have no internet in our house yet :( So casually sitting in Red Raisins, creeping on the incoming passing first years with their guides...

    Don't look well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,555 ✭✭✭Ave Sodalis

Depends on the jersey. I mean, if they were wearing a Donegal jersey, I'd be picking them out to talk to/annoy later ;)

    What about a Mayo 1?
