I'm tempted to back two players who need to put two really poor tournaments behind them. It's just a gut feeling. Hunter and Rory. Both at 25-1. Adam Scott is defending this week, but has he recovered from the Open disaster?

What have you seen or heard to make you think that Scott is recovered from the open?

Totally unrelated to betting...but I notice that Michael Hoey's name is next to the tricolour on the PGA leaderboard. I wonder if that's a mistake or something that Michael himself has requested.

Time to ditch Rory. His game is in a disastrous state.

    You only realise that now?:p

No, I knew his game was in trouble...but I wouldn't have used the word disastrous in the past.

Nice comeback from him though. He's currently -2 from being as bad as +3. Somewhere in there is the best player in the world IMO.

Oosthuizen looking ominous after a reasonable Open.

harrington was 8-1 i reno pre the event absolutely crazy short odds; i know all the good players are in akron, but its not as if hes playing against donkeys and hes playing perfect golf...

We do a great syndicate bet for the majors; a date is picked 2 weeks before the major; all the odds are picked on that date; you have to pick 3 golfers with a combined odds of 100/1 and come the sunday add together their final scores, 1 of your guys doesnt make the cut your team is out. Good little money spinner

FFS grow up. He played poorly in the open and then started this tournament 3 over thru 3. To finish how he did was a good recovery. I was merely commenting on that recovery as it happened. It's very easy to wander in after the event and make stupid comments like the one you just made. I picked Rory pre-tournament so I obviously felt he could turn it around this week. His very poor start through 3 relatively easy holes set off alarm bells that all may not be right. Luckily enough, he steadied the ship.

Furyk meanwhile proved that even the most experienced are not immune to the Sunday evening choke.
