I'm not that bothered about it, I just find it strange to make a claim of very good tyres in the ad and then put up a photograph of a tyre that needs to be replaced

Tyre looks perfect to me, it has asymmetric thread pattern.

Inner wall of that tyre looks worn

That silver Civic above, maybe nothing to worry about, but:

Vehicle Registration Number 98G7233 Vehicle Details HONDA / CIVIC Change Of Vehicle Ownership
    Purchased by a Dealer on : 21/05/2012
    Notified on : 21/05/2012

With the NCT expiring next month, there could be a bit to do, otherwise he would've put it through.

If it's as clean as it looks, it has to be a bargain.

T5R? Wheels aren't the originals IMO, there was an V70AWD for 5-600 recently on DD. Is the 'R' worth 1.7k more

nice nice motor but if anyone going to view it check the following link for possible issues with the awd system. Can be expensive if correct tyre change procedures not adhered to.

As Advert says an extra 200 euro will get the NCT done, also those 2.5 tds are pretty much bomb proof, at least its not clocked.

    Still a very decent car/engine.

More T5, fwd this time, 21 day old add so may be gone, tested until Feb, 140k miles and asking €1100...

Well, €1200 for a '99 2.5 diesel with one years nct with well over 300k miles on the clock.....
Not for me. But, as you say, it is a nice decent car, if it is in good nic.

That €200 extra with an NCT offer is all well and good but it could well be bullsh1t in the hope of folks reckoning it should pass one no bother, realistically if you take the price of the test out of that €200 it doesn't allow for much to be wrong. Plenty of gnomes out there might be tempted to take it as is and be in for a shock come test time.

With or without NCT I wouldn't be tempted to drop a grand + on that.

Definitely not. I reckon there's something expensive wrong with it. Anyone with an ad that says they'll put it through the test for an extra 200+ is having you on. They're just playing a game and know there's a sucker who'll think they'll buy it cheap and use that 200 to fix it themselves.

Exactly, if I needed/wanted a €1k diesel saloon, I'd look to that 406 I posted a page back, that has a valid NCT and probably less miles. It also should be more reliable and more economical.

    Can't imagine putting €1k to that 525tds...

Strong asking price, but it's likely it's worth it.

Cool wheels any way, wonder where I saw them before  :p

Not really my idea of Bangernomics as the feckin' tax will cost as much as the car, but this seems like a beauty

Dunno much about these, seems that there may have been a Nikasil issue with them at some point?

That is an absolutely lovely car; the thumbtack alloys are sweet. That advert is a lesson on how to do list your car properly.

Asking price a tad higher than yokes I typically post here but this one looks a great little bus for the money, just NCTd, a claimed 60k miles, full heated leather with air con..... yummy.... if genuine would make a smashing car for years all going well... don't like the tints though :pac:

The leather looks a bit more lived in than 60,000 odd miles, but I guess somebody could have been sitting in traffic for a few hours 5 days a week commuting...

Just curious, what are these cars like to live with? Generally reliable mechanically/electrically? How is the 2.0 petrol to drive?

The leather looks fine to me, it's nice soft stuff so can look a bit off in photo admittedly.

When I was a rep one of the other lads had a 2.0 petrol 406 Coupe, not really fast or anything but adequate enough. Mechanically and electrically etc there's be little worry really, very decent yokes.

In general much more practical than the likes of a Celica or a Prelude, more chilled out, comfy sort of a Coupe :)
