To think, 9 years ago, that was me getting into collecting consoles from my youth - more time has actually passed between now and then, then between when I bought the snes and when I played it when it was new.

    Ye what?

Almost as confusing as atavan's drunken gibberish. :pac:

So, can we discuss the posts from early this morning?
Our code breakers tell us you seem to have had a possible "encounter" with someone fall asunder, despite your best efforts.

    Poor sap! ;)

Yeah by what I can make out someone named "wing" was going to have fab sex with you but then something happened....something bad

This is the closest thing I can get to an English translation:
Laughing out loud! I am inebriated. Why isn't Wing (translator note: WTF?) having fabulous sexual intercourse with me?!

I was getting stuck in to some mot but she ***language too garbled*** going in to some other guy!

I liked that when typing 'guy' you managed to miss every letter in favour of the one next to it!

On rereading that, yes, it does make little sense :D

What I was trying to say -

1995 (when I stopped playing the Snes) -> 2003 when I bought my first ebay purchase to relive the Snes days, the dawn of my 'retro' collecting - 8 years difference. So I saw something which was 8 years previous as being retro.

    2003 -> now - 9 years difference.

So my first ebay purchase is more Retro to me now than the Snes was to me when I first started retro collecting :D

Took a trip out to Skerries the weekend to see if the arcade out there had any old games in it. Apart from "operation thunderbolt" and afterburner the rest are mostly newer arcade games. I did spot a load of broken cabs out the back through a set of double doors. couldnt make out what most of them where, but i did see outrun standup cab.

Its gas the outdoor amusements are there since i was a kid though. Got a photo of my kid with my brothers kid in the same "Big" wheel as the one that we had a go in nearly 30 years ago!

Did you ask about them at all?

No i had the kids hanging out of me, plus i didnt see a manager or anything floating around and i doubt the teenager in the change box would of been any use.

A lot of them looked to be those gambling machines, id say they would be good for projects, but there where others there too, i 100% spotted an outrun though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

Ah right, might be worth an investigation if anyone lives near there or anything, could be a few gems tucked away there

Tried ask about a simpsons pinball machine a while ago and usual..."eh...............I wouldnt know anything about that" from the change box

yeh i had a feeling that would have been the response i got too. In the place itself they also had two sitdown sega rallys, point blank. there was an atari car game there too that didnt work.

That place used to be wall to wall arcade games when i was younger, its full of gambling machines now.

They do still have the same kids rides though, the helicopter that goes up and down.. 30 years ago i sat in that thing. crazy.

They used to have some really good games there from what I remember. Raiden, Raiden 2, Shinobi, Outzone, Asterix and some good MVS games like Double Dragon.

Damn, forgot about this. Is OLD MAN IN CINEMA going?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭DinoRex

    I'll be there anyway.

I'll be sure to crack one off beforehand so that I'm not tempted in the cinema.

Mr. Ultimate's seat shall be soiled in trouser custard as a mark of respect for OLD MAN IN CINEMA?

Excellent. A fitting tribute Lord Dinorex of Cheltenham. :)

I'm looking forward to it. I've only seen 5cm per second though. Don't tell me if it isn't but I'm hoping for similar amounts of sadness and bittersweetness.

Oh don't worry. The themes of the film are loss and grief.
