Silent Night Deadly Night 2! The full scene is incredible, but that particular part is the obvious highlight

I just watched it. I still can't stop laughing at the car part!

    Nope, no we don't!
The 3DO had Return Fire, The Need For Speed, Road Rash, The Horde, Star Control, now they may have had FMV but they weren't FMV games.
Even Wing Commander 3 and 4 had some decent flying action interspersed with video, and it wasn't all bad either.
Ok, so there were a few hangovers from the earlier console, certainly Mega Race wasn't great, basically a manky prerendered car on a FMV race course.
But no, my 3DO is too beloved to me to considered in the company of a CDi.....
Steve, I am surprised at you!

Yes, I was referring to the Mega Race type games and certainly not the Return Fire or Wing Commander 3 types. Man I loved Wing Commander 3 when I got it first. I still have my original copy (still mint) I bought on a school trip to London when it was first released(I also picked up 2 Swedish chicks so I wasn't all nerd back then) .

Another title I really liked, and this is probably a bit surprising was 3D Atlas. As someone who likes their cartography it was very cool to have a 3D map to rotate and zoom with different styles of maps. Ok, I was always a bit of a nerd, fair enough.

The car crash later in the scene is even better than 'Garbage Day'

    What a conveniently placed ramp!

A similar classic, of particular appeal to old man in the cinema:

Kotaku trying to decide which was better.
    Genesis Aladdin or SNES Aladdin
Genesis winning (and damn straight too -_-)

    Ok now, steady on....
Night Trap is an abomination, part of the aborted era of FMV games, supported by such sh1te consoles as the MegaCD and the CDi.
Night Trap is in good company, Sewer Shark, Microcosm all deserve a painful death, with extra disemboweling.

You can't lump the Mega CD in with the CD-i. For a start, the Mega CD had games. And that's before I mention stuff like Snatcher, Popful Mail & quite a few other brilliant titles. All the CD-i had was terrible porn & rubbish interactive titles
Kotaku trying to decide which was better.
    Genesis Aladdin or SNES Aladdin
Genesis winning (and damn straight too -_-)

Tough call, they're both very different & equally brilliant

Aladdin Genesis looks amazing but it's pretty average by platformer standards. Aladdin on the SNES looks no where near as good but is a much better game. My vote is gamplay over graphics and Shinji Mikami's snes gameplay wins it for me over a game that plays like every other Shiny game on the MD.

I always preferred how the SNES game both looked and played.

Pfft! Pfft, I say! SNES version sounds like a load of tins being hit together haphazardly compared to the Megadrive version.

Hard to call with Whole New World though. Megadrive version is more dynamic, but the SNES one has a tinny charm.

    Ahhh!
I am at 6900 nintendo club points!
I am 600 short of the 7500 needed for the Game and Watch repro of Ball.
Can anyone help a brother out with a few points?
I know I asked before but now I am soooo close!
Help is needed, and for such a good cause too, my games collection!

I have a good few unscratched cards but I think they've all probably expired by now. Just had a look at one of them and it says "The PIN code expires on 07/01/2010".
    Do they enforce that?

Get your plush block, they are pretty sweet, I was very nearly distracted by their awesomeness on my quest for the G&W

    Boo hiss Nintendo!
By my reckoning I'm going to have to buy 3 games with 250 points each to raise the needed capital, it's cheaper to get one on ebay!
I must track down anyone whose children have wii consoles, they're bound to have points cards...
Now, how to do it without sounding creepy...

Airplay via Apple TV or direct cable hooked up to the iPad?

Over Airplay and the Apple TV.

Trying to use the touch screen controls while looking at TV is impossible though.

Hah! Look at the email I just got from ebay.

    Capture-7.jpg

First thing I bought on ebay was a Snes along with ALTTP.

To think, 9 years ago, that was me getting into collecting consoles from my youth - more time has actually passed between now and then, then between when I bought the snes and when I played it when it was new.

If you have a Wii controller handy you could try it with that.
