    We haven't even gotten started on train jingles:

    Change here for the Ueno subway line. That brings me back.

    I've been with letshost.ie for a good while now hosting websites and renting servers and I need a 2MB file restored for from a backup and they want € 25 + VAT to do it.
    Feckin cheek of them. You'd think the amount I pay them each month they'd do something like that for nothing.

    Anyway, sorry for the rant. It just pi$$ed me off.

    Oh I know, but there's something immensely more entertaining levelling up monsters as opposed to people.
    Aren't we all monsters?

    Some fan translation news. It seems Pokemon Trading Card Game 2 has gotten a full english translation:

    http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1736/

    Also after a bit of turmoil when the project was handed over to a bunch of jokers the Front Mission 2 translation seems to be back on track, it's being created by the same team that did the excellent Front Mission 5 translation. They've had the first two patches released in the last month, that's 2 out of 3 patches before the final release. Also as a bonus they've released the first patch for Front Mission Alternative.

    One other thing I noticed a new translation for a game called Jesus: Tale of the Terrifying Bio Monster. I need to play this game!

    awesome vids ! takes me right back too. I loved so many of those jingles. I'd love to get my hands on the Kyoto subway, it was very Blade Runner-esque, and I only have a crap recording of it.

    The subways over there are so clean too

    Nope, derp :D

    I think I'm saving for a US Snes, there's no point in buying a Super Famicom really for me because the PAL machine is identical barring the name on it, & can play the SFC games.

    I really like them too :o

    I've always liked the look of the US Snes including the button colours! Yep o1s1n, I really said that. The square carts too, they look cool. :cool:

    Product shots like this always make me wonder why photographers have a hard-on for the world's shortest joypad cables.

    I like it, it's certainly no uglier than its cousin which is the Famicom

    Famicom.jpg

    But that's probably allowed to be ugly because its Japanese yeah? :D

    Always preferred the look of the PAL and Japanese SNES. It was a lot more colourful and so were the controllers.

    I prefer it too, it's just converters for the carts are crap & I'm not cutting my PAL snes up to fit the larger carts...which leaves but one option, a US Snes :) I actually do like the look of them though which is handy :p

    Hmm, it's been a while since I unboxed my still mint, pristine, no yellowing, A1 Sharon, fully boxed Super Famicom. I'll put a reminder in my calendar to look up at my shelves and admire the box tonight.

    Certainly looks more flamboyant as o1s1n would say. :P

    Ah the PAL Snes looks cool of course but nothing wrong with the meaner looking US one. The US is Arnie's T-800 and the PAL the T-1000. :cool:

    The snes isn't meant to look mean though!

    The Megadrive is mean. Black. The model 2 looks like a ninja with red eyes. Even the sound chip sounds mean.

    The snes on the other hand is colourful, chipper, sounds soft and unoffending and dare I say it, is a bit flamboyant :D

    Stephen Fry kinda flamboyant ?

    US SNES is just plain ugly..

    Yep, I could see a PAL snes donning a gown and prancing around a gold wallpaper lined room, all flamboyant like.

    Meanwhile an NTSC US Snes sits on the corner of the street down the road, begging for change - nobody wants to go near him though, they just recoil from his ugly ugly horror.
    ...

    WTF am I even saying?!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,332 ✭✭✭valleyoftheunos

    I remember when it was launched I thought the Jap SNES was the most beautiful. sleek and modern console I'd ever seen, I think its a design classic really. God knows what NoA were thinking with the redesign for the US market.

    SNES = Stephen Fry

    Megadrive = Danny Dyer

    Nothing, not even an inanimate object should ever be compared to Danny Dyer.
