what did we all get for 3b (ii) for values of x and y?
    y=-1 x=-5,3

x-values could be the other way around cant remember

Was there not only one actual value for x? I took it as the common value for x when you worked out the two quadratics, which was 3 I think.

same except i rejected other values of x other than x=3

Same as, except x = -5 didn't work when filled back in.

    That wasn't great but I think I got a C1, glad it's over!

That wasn't so nice. :( 8c and 2bii fecked a lot of it up. I think I got around 60-75% though...

    what about q1c (ii)

    i used b^2 - 4ac >0 on ( k^2x^2+t)

    and since b=0 i got -4k^2t >0

    so t<0 ? anyone agree?

    What did ye all get for Q.2 b ii and Q.3 c i ? :)

Did anybody else get 9658.125 as there coefficient to to x in 5C(ii)?

Anyone else in one of the pilot schools? It was alright I thought, got most of it. Q 2 and 3 were very difficult. Those sets reminded me of the solar system. Everyone else despised it though, so maybe we'll somehow receive an easy paper 2

I got this but discarded the -5 as it didn't work when subbed into the second x quadratic..

What about in Q5? In part ci I think, it says grater than or equal to 4. If you sub 3 in, you get 9>7 :o

I also did this but gave no values for t as I thought I was on the wrong track and skipped it. Q1 bii about the new polynomial with roots one less took a long hard think to get had never seen the like before

I enjoyed the paper overall. 3c (ii) and 8c were tricky.

i got de exact same as u in all of above, wat did ye get for c (ii)

I got 2 Root k cubed for Question 8 C (ii) what did you get it?

that formula is for quadratics, no? this was a cubic equation if i remember correctly

Yes. I thought it was a mistake at first , but I kept looking through my answer and it seemed to fit.

Thought it was a fair paper really. I got out nearly all the A and B parts, and got out the Newton-Raphson part C fully with a couple of others where I was able to get out the first part or two. I was delighted when I saw an area question for Integration, but once I actually looked at the question I wasn't as happy :o The whole integration question for me was a write-off tbh, I'd be lucky to get 15 marks out of it. So I ended up going back and chancing sequences and series which I have a very slight knowledge of.

Overall, I definitely passed and may have even gotten a C, which is all I want. Hopefully I can bring it up a little in paper 2 though.

Hahahha yeah I was exactly the same. OH SWEET INTEGRATION AREA QUESTION!!

    (2min later)

    ....oh dear GOD!

Ehh, no.. i got a thousand and something :/

Also, did anybody get Q6 b? Not sure if it was that question, it was where you had to prove the 2 tangents were parallel.. wasn't working out for me :(

    Pretty good paper, definetly think I got the C hopefully with a bit a luck the B. <3 Q's 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7. Got most of 6 and 8 right too.

Don't forget the attempt marks everyone, you probably did better than you think.

Did anybody else get 9658.125 as there coefficient to to x in 5C(ii)?

No.. I got something fairly regular, 210 perhaps?

I used that formula 2 and got the same thing but I am 70 % sure that we are wrong cause it said the set of values in the question

Was the answer to q8c supposed to be in terms of a ??

I did it out 3 times and got the same thing, then said that x^0 wasn't possible as you can't have nC6.66, as nEN.

yeah but we took out a quadratic out of the cubic when we divided??

    What a lovely paper!

    Only bits I couldn't do Were Q2(c) and Q8(c)

Dreading P2 though, I can't do it at all :/

Yes I got that too! :D
Did anybody else get 9658.125 as there coefficient to to x in 5C(ii)?

I got a 5 figure number over 8 and left it as a fraction, so it could be the same!
I got 2 Root k cubed for Question 8 C (ii) what did you get it?

I think I got that but divided by 3!

210 was right for 10C4, but the rest doesn't cancel out to i think you have to include it. I hope!!!

To be honest, it feel sorry for those who's teachers hadn't covered 4 or 5. They were by far the easiest questions on the paper!
