    It gets better and better.

I feel as though I made a mistake watching it to fast. When im talking to people about it I cant really reference an episode, its all just one big blob of a show in my mind now.

So what did people make of the Game of Thrones season finale reminded me of the end of season 1 but this season didn't live up to its potential for me, nearly felt like a bit of a transitional series.

Given what's ahead in the next series or two it's fair to say it was a bit of a transitional series, yeah. It sets up what's to come.

I tried Breaking bad again on the assumption that I just as being stubborn about series 1 in not liking it.

So, I tried series 2, and quit after one episode. I genuinely do not like any of the characters. None of them a likable, or sympathetic.

Shame that I think that, as people rave about it, but thats it really.

Breaking Bad is incredibly good IMO. I was enjoying the first two series but as soon as
    Gus
is introduced it becomes mind blowing televeision.

Completely agreed. The last season was absolutely compelling TV.

Funtendo conference starts in half an hour! GameTrailers and YouTube.com/E3 are hosting :)

I was the same. hated all of them. Near the end of season 2 i figured that wasnt such a bad thing as they were all just disgusting human beings they werent much to feel symathetic to.
    But as DQ said, once
    gus
enters sh!t goes all kinds of crazy.

Watched the Season 2 extra's and a load of them are his commercials. They are hilarious.

What did you make of it?
E3 was a bit of a letdown plenty of games to look forward to but I knew about the vast majority of them months ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

I haven't seen Sony's yet but watched Nintendo's there. Was pretty underwhelmed - 5 billion mario titles, read lyrics off the tablet and Nintendoland; nothing really for me. Haven't played the Pikmin games, they look like Minish Cap w/ Little Big Planet! Ubisoft looked to be working their arses off though! Was hoping for some killer Nintendo game to sink my teeth into. So far I'm not sold on the Wii U.

From E3 I'm most looking forward to Tomb Raider, Resi 6 and maybe that Star Wars 1313 game (which was called a cross between Star Wars and Uncharted). Porting 18-month old games isn't my thing either!! What games tickled your fancy?

I wanted Tomb Raider since last years on stage demo pity it ain't out until march, Assassins Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Watch_Dogs (but if that wasn't PC footage I will eat my hair). Pity most the games I want aren't out until 2013.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Definitely. As well as those, all the games I'm looking for I think are cross-platform
Star Wars 1313 (said to be like Uncharted)
Bioshock Infinite (was sold on it from the first trailer)
The Last of Us (looks amazing)
    Beyond (Heavy Rain 2 basically)
Splinter Cell (new kill mechanic/flow looks great!)
    South Park RPG (XBLA only?)

Ubi really killed it this year. Looking back, there's a ton of games to look forward to. I think they must've been showcased at the EA/Ubi conference lol

I want Assassin's Creed 3. I want it. I want it now. Give it to me now. F*CKING LET ME PLAY IT NOW! C*NTS!

The Last of Us looks good too.

GIVE ME ASSASSIN'S CREED 3 NOW!

Major disappointment for me so far though is the Devil May Cry reboot.
Original Devil May Cry: Dante was a badass, funny demon hunter. Bad guy Mundus was a giant demon prince with wings.
Devil May Cry reboot: Dante is a slightly sarcastic teen who fights demons. Bad guy Mundus appears to be a nightclub owner

I love the Devil May Cry games (bar No.2, which was just awful). But this... this is barely even a reboot. They've changed the entire story and characters, they've changed the settings and feel of the games, and from what I've heard they've majorly dumbed down the gameplay. They should have just made it a brand new game.

South Park The Stick of Truth is multiplatform and not a xbla/psn title(disc release) that ain't out this year either.
Is The Last of Us out this year?
The only thing worrying me about Beyond is David Gage the guy ain't much of a writer based on Heavy Rain and that Ellen Page annoys the hell out of me.
I quite enjoyed Conviction so the new splinter cell has piqued my interest, pity Rainbox Six was a no show I really liked its plot, it'll probably get a facelift like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon recently got.
Gutted the Last Guardian has seemed to sank without a trace, maybe it'll appear at the TGS.

    ACIII,
    The new splinter cell,
That watch dogs looks alright but i only seen two minutes of the gameplay trailer.

Aaannnd thats pretty much it. I couldnt care less about the xbox franchise games such as GOW or Halo. And some say i'm an xbox fanboy?! Pffft.

I was thinking something while watching the xbox conference, all these games that we are being shown are potentially the last of the BIG games for this generation of consoles.
Like next years all the manufacturers are going to be whoring out their newest pieces of kit and will be showing the games that will be released for those specs.
    Kinda made me sad.

I was kinda the opposite thinking jesus I hope when the next gen comes around MS has more to offer me than kinect, 3rd party games or apps that I don't really want or need. Having Blops2 on last was a letdown is it even a big deal now.

Its the definition of a cash cow.
Personally i think it looks alright, nice new features and some original story for once from treyarch. But I hate it because its a COD game. :o

Criminally Capcom got a new developer to make the latest game(which i won't be buying if first impressions are anything to go by) the guys who made Dmc 1,3, and 4 did make it's spiritual sequel Bayonetta which is fantastic though.

On the topic of Breaking Bad i can understand why people may not like it. There are lot's of instances where not much seems to happen and things happen very slowly. But as others have mentioned it gets crazy after the first few seasons.

I know I'm going on about this a lot, but I dont care :p

Looking at jobs in Canada and the pay is great! Even for an apprentice (The lowest rate it gives and I'd be getting more so since I'm fully qualified) you're taking home nearly €2,000 every two weeks! Ten days on, four days off.

Wish I had enough money to make applying for the visa worthwhile. It's a deal breaker if you dont have the minimum they specify. I'm comfortably over the points required in every other area. :(

They pay is really good alright but the cost of living can be fairly high depending on where you intend to go. Obviously the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver are much more expensive than the rural areas.

Still though, you would live pretty comfortably there. I think I'll do a year or two in the UK first and then head over.

Had a look there earlier for an idea of prices and EVERY area said house prices are higher than other area's in Canada. How can every area be higher than everywhere else? I assume the rent is done per month (otherwise some of them are HUGE!) so you can get decent looking places for around $600. If youre making over $4,000 a month, that seems quite good to start off. The company I was looking at works out of "Alberta and Western Canada". Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a fairly big area! Travel might be a bit of a problem with an area that size.

It also said everything else is cheaper than most other countries with car insurance being the only exception to that.

Nothing happening until next summer at the earliest so I still have plently of time to check everything out before seeing if I'll have enough money to apply for a visa or if I'll have to look elsewhere first.

Why did people expect for her to run the 9km? She signed a contract after she retired from MMA for just 2km in one date over 12 months, culminating in a wrestlemania match against the Undertaker. She lost her first 500m to John Cena FFS.

Just did a mock driving test. 1 red mark and 13 blues :( (4 on clutch control).

On the upside, my net connection is back albeit temporarily. Having to wait on a new router from Eircom to get back to 100% :(
