My teacher who is unreal at predicting (has gotten it right every year said if you're going to do the lockout, do it through connolly as a key personality like his role in social and political reform also Land, GAA, and Feminisim
Feminism as in the suffrage movement? Also, if a decent question comes up on the GAA, i'm flying!

Haven't touched short stories since the start of 2nd year, I would suggest unless you have some gold stick with something truly personal and off the cuff, has served me well.

These short stories are pretty crap, but I want to have them as a back up plan. I will firstly look to write a personal essay if I can, then if not, I will look into short stories and see if I can fit either of the two of my stories into a title. If not, I'm ****ed.

If you're trying to learn something off, have something broad enough to fit any title well.

Generally, having the bones of a short story in your head before you go in can work well!

Question for History heads, been studying a lot of Redmond including comparison with Parnell and Carson. I think it's likely enough to come up, but of course I cant be sure, opinions ?

It would be a nice enough question I think? Do you mind me asking what else your focusing on for that section? It's the one I'm most worried about! :)

Gaa and cultural nationalism, 1913 lockout and maybe land agitation if I have time :)

    Paper One:
alpha and beta roots of an equation
    De Moivre's theorem
    inequality proof by induction
integration for area under a graph

    Paper Two:
basically impossible to predict :/ Bernoulli trials, line of best fit, lots of diagram based questions.

I'm studying Plath and Heaney. Out of Larkin and Kavanagh which one would you advise to study alongside these 2.

    Thanks

Most people say Larkin, I studied both- just have a feeling about kavanagh

I'd expect Fianna Fail and Dev to appear on the history paper, seeing as it is the 80th anniversary of them first coming to power this year.

So do I. I know this sounds evil but I'm praying Heaney doesn't come up! It'll teach those only learning one poet, and I can't stand him anyway!

So you don't want him to come up to jeopardise people going to college just to teach people a lesson? Lol you're an asshole.

No, I just don't think it's fair people get away with studying one when I study all 5.. the time studying poetry takes up like :(

But in fairness I wouldn't call myself an asshole just over that, it's unlikely that poetry would cost a college place anyway.

Sorry if I offended you, it just annoys me. But no need to be like that.

Fair enough I shouldn't have called you an asshole and I'm sorry, I'm just a bit moody! :p

It's just not fair to say that. Obviously since you're doing 5 poets, in an ideal world you deserve to do a lot better than me and a good percentage of the country who are only doing 2/3, but it's still unfair to say you're praying that what we've done doesn't come up. I'm sure there are areas of some course that you're unprepared for and are relying to some extent on predictions.

Ok yeah I suppose exam pressure is getting to me a bit too :S Yeah it'll be interesting to see how my short story pans out tomorrow, not prepared well for that at all!

    Good luck anyway!

Didn't want to make a topic for this, even if it's not related.

Are you people required to wear uniforms to exams?

Just wondering what sort of essays people are preparing for hl English paper 1. I have one prepared on the Olympics and one about Ireland's resilience. Our teacher is an examiner and she predicted these two titles

The absolute irony in that!!! I've written only two stories in the last week and they have titles identical to those! And my one on the Olympics is really good :D Ahhh I'm happy now :)

To answer your question, most people I know have an essay written up on a tragic event, war or a love story. They're pretty adaptable too!

    No

I heard you are required. Infact, I heard that if you don't wear full uniform the supervisor can refuse to let you sit the test

Bull**** :P .... we don't have to and on the contrary it's usually the school that want people to wear it!

Well that's what our teacher told us anyway, that's a relief.

I'd say you'd be safe for Hamlet if you were to know stuff on deception, the role of women, the use of soliloquies, and character of polonius. That's what I'm doing anyway!! Anyone else have any inputs? :)
ya im sure one of them will be up!! thanks....what have you done for the comparative??

If Plath came up, and the question was decent, I'd be delighted, but I'd recommend doing Heaney as well. Maybe Rich too.
