If you were to pick 2 poets(other than plath) to learn, 2 topics for hamlet and either gvvp or lg what would they be?

    Rich
    Heaney
    Appearances vs Reality
    Women
GVVP (even though my teacher said my LG one was fabulous, best she has read! :L )

To be honest, is anyone doing any work for the Comparitives? I'm just reading over them to refresh my mind but nothing major. The question is usually the same every year!

Looool I'm not even reading over the texts. I'm gonna learn off the sample essays and that'll do.
If GVV comes up, there's really not much variation, is there?

What question should I study on the character of Hamlet? Just a general question?

I would suggest just throw together 5/6 points together that you could use in an essay and then pick and choose as will be necessary?

    Holy mollyyyy

why is everyone so scared about English?
    Pure bollocks.
Just read over your notes , that's what I did for the mock and I got 71% , HL is well :L
It's sooo easy , know few quotes , throw few big words , TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS , apparently examiners LOVE your personal views about the all craic and describe everything as the examiner was sitting in front of you.
Yous will probably do better than yous think!
Don't listen to people , there is a possibility that they will trick us by not putting Plath and Heaney on the paper :L
    Gluck!

Apart from statistics, areas/volumes, probability, what else do I need to know for OL maths paper 2?

    How many theorems and constructions?

I think paper 2 is a really easy paper to pass, I got 53% and I had never studied for it, but I think it's a difficult paper to get a good grade in.

Those are the only geometry theorems you need to be able to prove. You need to know all the constructions on the course - I believe there's 22 of them, if you need a list PM me as I don't know where I put it right this second... You do have to know the results of all the theorems though and how to use those results. For example, two angles at the circumference of a circle standing on the same arc are equal - you don't have to prove it but you have to know how to use that answer to solve problems.

Repeater here. Seriously Paper 1 is where all the marks are. Talk as much ****e as humanly possible then in Paper 2 get as much down as you possibly can but explain WHY YOU THINK and give your own opinion!

I hope you're accurate, because that's what I'm (and my teacher) are putting emphasis. Instead of GAA, look at lockout as well. They're both equally likely, I'd say.

Does anyone think proving the Newton-Raphson method could come back up on HL Maths paper 1?
It came up in 2005 and since it's not an actual specified proof, they just kinda walked you through, I'm hoping it won't be back but does anyone think differently? Is there a reason it might come up?

    General Vision and Viewpoint.

Hamlet looks good, GVV has to come up, and I think Heaney will too.

Can I ask you though, what would you discuss in the characterization of women? Can you give me some brief pointers? Thanks

Must look at the lockout alright but as I am repeating I did the Northern Ireland Case Studies last year and Coleraine is tipped to come up then i will avoid the Parnell book

Formula is in the log tables? It's straightforward enough :D

I just pray that Plath will come up, but knowing my luck she won't...

    English Paper 2
I guess that the four poets to come up will be: Seamus Heaney, Sylvia Plath, Kinsella and Larkin.

Hamlet: Role of Minor Characters in the Play/Polonious As a single character question/Women Role in the play. Dont Know what theme questions anybody able to help with theme questions?

More than Likely Lit Genre nd Theme/Issue

Theme of deception (app vs reality)/betrayal(+maybe loyalty)/corruption.

Why would Theme come up again? Illogical. It will be GVV and LG.

Could be it would take the focus away from the usual Parnell/Butt question have a good look at the GAA and the Lockout highly tipped

yeah, those are the other 2 I've been focusing on, I have a funny feeling that the lockout wont be on this year though, next year is it's 100 year anniversary and a question on Larkin did come up last year, maybe that's just superstition :P
