    Memorial:

    K Na @70/1
    {5 top 10s in 15 starts this year including T7th at the players 2 starts ago. Although fairways are quite easy to hit here, driving accuracy is still key as it's vital to be playing 2nd shots from the fairway. 6 out of the 12 players who finished top 10 last year ranked inside the top 10 in driving accuracy that week. Na is 16th on tour for DA.}

    Wales:

    Magnus Carlsson @60/1
    {T8 last year. Ranks first on tour in GIR.}

    Matteo Manassero @22/1
    {course looks a good fit for him. let me down a couple of times recently, but I'm afraid to leave him out in case this is his week.}

    Europe:
    Paul Lawrie @ 16/1
    Former winner and was striking the ball beautifully at Wentworth. Placed yesterday, odds have dropped to 14/1 generally.

    US:
    Rickie Fowler @ 18/1
    Webb Simpson @ 33/1

    I'm interested in Webb simpson as well...Day lives nearby so I can see why he'd be popular.

    Celtic Manor: David Drysdale - 100/1 & Richard Sterne - 50/1

    Both finished in the Top 10 last week at Wentworth so can hopefully carry that form into this week.

    I have a feeling there could be even more dramatic changes today. Two very hard course (and 3 million bunkers at Muirfield)

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,067 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

    Well Byrd is T20 which is whereabouts I want him to be after R1...

    ...however I stupidly made it a double with Jamie Donaldson to finish Top 20 in Welsh Open..

    ..and he finished R1 T135 on +10 :(:mad:

    Great round from Fowler factoring in the conditions and pins out there today :)

    People should always resist ye urge to back the players ranked higher than 75 who make a decent start. 99% of the time they fall away. The cream almost always rises to the top.

    Players like summerhays and stallings were no match for the others around them on the leader board. It's a mental thing but more importantly a lack of experience at the top of a leaderboard. They're used to the lack of pressure that goes with the bottom to middle of the leaderboards.

    backed Stenson at 25/1 yesterday e/w 3 places still in with a shot
    Can see top 2 of leader board falling apart tonight

    +6 after 1st rnd - ended up T18
    Will keep him in mind for next week

    flipping fuming over adding Johnson- Byrd finished T6

    why I got it into my head to make it a double- argh

    Three players I've in mind for St. Jude's Top 20 is:
    Westwood (good history here- but prob be poor odds on Top 20)
    Levin (had him down even before his impressive performance this weekend- his odds will have been shortened due to this unfort)
    Villegas (great record on the course- will prob be my main bet)
