how many hours vaping will you get out of that 18350 battery on a lavatube? I have the howitzer vv with that size (and 18650 and 18500 tubes too) and the 18350 whilst relatively small lasts not very long - maybe 2 hours.

I'm hoping longer than that - anyone got an extra 18350 they want to sell - I'm only getting one.

Normally I have a couple of PV's in use during the day, today I used my Argento (Indulgence) with the arry tank and an LR Boge and I've been using a Megladon.
I take a bag to work with ALL my PV's everyday, not having a proper higher voltage vape has been a bit nasty though. Next week I'll have a Vmax too so I should be back to fogging up my office...

About 4 hours according to the supplier:D
It's obviously going to vary depending on usage.

I can manage 4 hours - hope the charger I have is quick!

What kind of batteries are they I'm guessing there not AW imr batteries?

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭mrplop

AW's are supposed to last 4 to 5 hours apparently.
I think the Howitzer had those unmarked blue high drains.

I was lucky - the Don was given to me by a friend - like Christmas it was!
Incidentally the switch on the Don is a total pain in the arse.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,712 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

I keep checking electronicstix to see if they have em in stock! :(

Love the look of the switch myself!

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭mrplop

The switch is beautiful - just a pain setting up the tension in the spring and actually firing it - pressing a button on the bottom of the Don is awkward and uncomfortable.

If there's any kind of contamination the button won't bounce back out and the Don will be stuck in the firing position, a spare spring is only £1.50 BUT Mojurepublic won't post it to Ireland for less than €6.
I'll outright refuse to pay that for posting an item so small -they didn't bother answering my email asking if there was a cheaper method of post either.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,712 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

That's mental money for a spring to be posted!

    I'd rather go without.

Got the Chrome Lavatube this morning - what a cracking little device.

It's worlds apart fron my original versions, the build quality is quite astonishing and the finish is perfect. It's not often you buy a PV these days that doesn't have a least one little flaw but this is spot on. Performance is improved on this version too - it's hitting a little harder than the first gen tubes.

Glad I got this at the price I did, actually a little cheaper than the cheapest UK vendor.
He's only got one left which I would have bought if I hadn't gone mad buying stuff this week.

I don't have one yet but I did have the LT version1 and for that price I'd recommend that you grab it while its going as this one has higher spec with the ohms resistance reader and higher amp level built in I don't think you will go too far wrong.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,589 ✭✭✭Stealthirl

well i was going to get a 1000mAh Twist off him and that'll be about €25 then i started thinking for just over twice that i get more range,4x the battery mAh and something far better,I wont order till tomorro as im still mulling it over.

currantly im happy with the LR ego-t and i have an adapter left over from when i had the SB

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,848 ✭✭✭Andy-Pandy

If i was to purchase this should i purchase anything else with it? What about the part you suck on, should i purchase a few straight off the bat, and what should i order if i wanted to.

    Thanks,

    Im a total novice.

these will work well with that. one oughta last you 2-3 days to a week if you plan to vape at high enough voltages (higher voltages kinda wreck them faster than your standard voltage batteries) so yeah order a few of them as you might get unlucky and some might arrive that dont last very long. they're disposable products and cheap as a result so how long they last is.. kinda iffy. you can say generally they'll last X amount of time.. but there's always the risk of getting a few bad cartos in an order.

but uh.. I dont know if that's a great kit to get for a first kit. after you've been vaping for a while sure.. but you'll have to deal with batteries and taking them out to charge and if you vape at high enough voltages, you'll have to take them out to charge pretty regularly, so it wont be something you can take out and expect to have it last a full day or longer

dont get me wrong, it's a great device. it's just a bit more involved than your standard ecig kit which is just "attach cartomiser, vape" and.. well I suppose you'll pick it up pretty quickly it just might be a little frustrating at first as you're figuring it all out

    oh

    and one of these
    http://www.thebestshop.eu/drip-tips/transparent-drip-tips/prod_146.html

you put this into the cartomiser i linked above. just handier than wrapping your lips around the carto itself.

youll need liquid too obviously, dont think any comes in that kit

It's a good kit and you'll move onto a proper device skipping some of the starter kits most of us kicked off with. The advantage is you'll save money, disadvantage is you will be missing out on some of the learning curve.

Sticking with the same website you will need some 510 drip tips:
    http://www.thebestshop.eu/drip-tips/delrin-drip-tip-510/901/prod_166.html
There are loads of different types, the key for you is to make sure whichever you get, they are 510 drip tips.

You will also probably need to get some cartomizers, I prefer the boge cartomizers. Make sure that you get standard resistance and not low resistance.
You will find stockists in the list of recommended vendors thread stickied at the top of this forum.

Of course you will need some eliquid, that will depend on your own tastes, often when people first start they want a tobacco flavour, but myself I prefer RY4 flavour. Buy a few different types and you'll find what you like. Then you may be able to trade what you dislike with other members here, down the road. Probably safest to start out with a pg liquid or 70 pg / 30 vg (it will be in the description)

If you like that set up, a few days later you will need to hook yourself up with a tank and a carto punch, just so you can vape all day without having to top up with eliquid. But you can come back to us when you get to that stage.

It's a bit hit and miss to start off with and you will spend some money finding your ideal set up, but it levels off and you will never spend as much as you would on cigarettes.

The lavatube is a good piece of kit with several reviews and tutorials on youtube. Also plenty here have experience with it so there will be no shortage of advice.

    Best of luck.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,848 ✭✭✭Andy-Pandy

Thanks for that advice, i'll start of with something simpler then and if i like it ill upgrade.

    I reccomend...
    http://www.thebestshop.eu/electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/ego-t-dcc-promotional-starter-kit/prod_207.html

    http://e-smokeireland.eu/epages/950002218.sf/en_IE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950002218/Products/DCCXLKIT

same kit, bit cheaper on the second site and you'll need a drip tip either way

    or

    http://www.ezsmoke.ie/riva-boge-cartomizer-ecigarette-starter-p-136.html
with the LR 2.0-2.4ohm cartomiser option

both options are very similar. the dual coil is slightly warmer with a ... "rougher" flavour I guess as the added heat affects the flavour. the boges are a touch cooler and as such the flavour isn't as affected.

your can go onto youtube and look for reviews of
    "dual coil cartomiser"
    or "boge cartomiser"

plus whatever kit you end up getting, you can order some samples of t he other cartomisers on their own and try them out.. see which you prefer.

This is a great kit to get to start with: http://www.thebestshop.eu/electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/ego-t-dcc-promotional-starter-kit/prod_207.html

With that you'll only need to get juice/liquid and a drip tip or two, and then you'll be good to go. Just charge the battery, fill a cartomiser with liquid, screw it onto the battery, put in the drip tip and you're ready to go.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

    oh
and dont order a large bottle of juice straight off

order a few 10ml bottles of differet juices, so if you end up not liking one at least you didnt spend much money on it

I haven't used my LT much yet, but did order some Boge 3.0 LR carts for it. I've only tried one so far, and it's an incredibly tight draw with not much taste. Pretty sure I tried different voltages to no avail. Does it just sound like a dud?
